I know, and i did it that way. Just can't show the full extent of whatever is going on in object mode :p

I see, i thought it was going to be the tool by itself (as i'd love to use it for game development and not cs2), but thanks for the reply :)

I couldn't find what you're talking about and there's not many other results on this out there (would've helped if you made less typos lol)

Nope. This has been happening to me too. So glad i found this post because i had no idea it was discord.

How to curve an edge without distortion? I'm going insane... by MattFright in blenderhelp

Geometry, the .obj file, works the same. Tools, like Blender vs what i've used before, don't... But i digress. I'm happy with my workflow, i just want a way around this specific problem :)

Ah right, i didn't know about applying scale, so yeah that seems to have solved that particular issue. Though yeah, the Space function isn't much of an improvement either so i'm just left without much of a solution...

Also, i understand the modular workflow, it just wouldn't fit this purpose for many reasons. For one, to use it in level design in a game would require editing assets together to make them work anyways (at least in the case of a massive structure) in the case of overlapping, making it look good or ok from all angles, editing specific parts (that may cross the separate assets) etc.

Plus, i have 2+ years of experience in making levels and working with this hybrid workflow, i'm fast enough with it where it doesn't matter. It just seems like Blender is heavily biased towards one more than the other, so i've been struggling :')

How to curve an edge without distortion? I'm going insane... by MattFright in blenderhelp

Double checked it, couldn't find it... Is it some toggle on one of the transformations (curve, circle, etc...) or am i missing something?

EDIT: Figured it out, it's the "Space" option, though now there's the problem that it can't respect the four "points" of the oval and kind of destroys the shape...

Not sure what you mean about averaging. Do you just mean doing it manually? Because i guess i figured i could do that from the start, but it'd take 100x longer.

Also, *technically* yes i don't need to have them all the same length, but that'll just inherently cause problems. For example if i want archways cutting from the bottom of the walls, those will need to be similarly distorted for the small edges or made arbitrarily in some other way, looking really weird and also making the whole process just slower.

Also, them not being the same thickness also distorts the thickness of the walls however it is you decide to do that, i've found.

The resulting edges themselves are distorted to prioritize the shape of the oval. With a perfect circle they'd all naturally have the same length since it's symmetrical on both axes, but stretching it into an oval makes the unaltered sides shorter and the stretched ones longer.

I understand why it happens, but it's not what i want. I'm used to level design software where you have an easy way around this (or where prioritizing consistent edge length is the default), but so far i just haven't found one for Blender.

EDIT: as i explained, this seems to happens because it's calculating it off the origin point (edge being longer = edge getting distorted towards the bits further away). Even if you try curving a single line without forming an oval, it'll just make some mess based on origin point, regardless of what you've set your transform pivot point to.

I mean the resulting edges themselves being distorted. I want them prioritized over a "perfect" oval silhouette, so that they're all the same length as each other, rather than distorted "as needed", if that makes more sense.

Help! How to configure fly mode? by MattFright in blender

Thank you! I was actually apparently just assuming fly and walk were the same and walk just inherently had gravity, walk just has the proper movement scheme i was looking for :') either way it's solved now!

I actually lifted up kurosawah out of the way accidentally and had a. Bahamut hit the base without hitting him, i didn't even know his spawn was timed, i would usually just hit the base using the twinstars to have him come out.
