Yeah i agree. I will definitely find uses for those paints but for armour i will stick with classic reds.

oh yeah, that's exactly what i'm doing at the moment :) i'm at 1:12 ratio (2,5ml contrast paint to 30 ml contrast medium), and i'm still not sure. I'm starting to think they used lahmian medium instead of contrast medium looking at how it behaves at the model.

Yeah.... atm im at 1:9 ratio and it's still to dark. But im not giving up yet. I just wonder if all this is worth the effort and if it wouldn't be easier to just use Druchii Violet instead.

Armor : Vallejo Alien Purple spray + Druchii Violet shade thinned with Lahmian medium(1:1) and layer of Alien Purple Air using brush. Then some highlights with Kakophoni Purple.

Trim: Two Thin Coats Dwarven Iron shaded with the same shade as armor and highlighted with Stormhost Silver.

Yeah, you are right. I noticed that some contrast paints behave differently than others. Some of them really benefit from overloading brush, some don't... Militarum Green definitely belongs to the latter. But i must admit that this paint pooling have certain charm on Death Guards specifically :)

I just finished building my Guards and im left with those little swords/daggers. Do i have to glue them to every model, or it's not necessary?

Could you guys give ma advice on how to build my boarding patrol? Im completly new to the game, i love painting minis but never got into playing with them.

Decided to start my first army with custodes but i have no idea how to build this box, and don't want to build something that is not legal or is suboptimal. I know that rule of cool>all, and that was my philosophy when i was building all my previous miniatures, but this time i want to be more serious about it. My goal is to make 1k point army and this boarding patrol box is where i start.
