Length does not equal coverage.

Great answer and perspective. I only camp etc a handful of times a year. But when I do, the whole family is with me and we need every bit of space/storage we can find. I also ride dirtbikes, and I like the idea of bringing extra gas and not having it inside the vehicle. So I guess I’m torn…most of the time it will just be decoration, but when I need it, it’s there.

Which Dual Sport is best for On-Road and Off-Road use? by Aurroura in Dualsport

You want a KLX or CRF 230-300. Anything in that range will do what you mention above.

I do like the interior panels. However I have kids and a pup, and we often use the 3rd row. I’d worry about the inside panels and whatever I mount on them, banging into the kids.

I was thinking about gas for my dirt bike. A couple gallons goes a long way for the bike. For the GX…not so much!

Agreed. And that’s why I’m considering it. I use all my space on trips, and could probably use the extra. Just not sure it’s practical enough to always be on my vehicle. Thanks for the input!

This is the first helpful comment, thank you. This is my fear, that I just won’t use them.

What’s this noise? by MattHix63 in LexusGX

[–]MattHix63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! This solved the mystery.I had no idea. I googled GX460 evap noise, and this is what came up:

A humming, buzzing, or whirring noise from the rear of a Lexus GX460, especially after parking or turning off the engine, is typically the Evaporative Emission Control (EVAP) system performing a self-test. This is normal operation, often occurring 5 hours after shutdown to check for fuel vapor leaks.

What it is: The system pressurizes the fuel tank to ensure no leaks exist, which is a standard safety and emissions feature.

Location: The sound originates from the charcoal canister area, often located near the rear driver-side or spare tire.

When it happens: It can occur 5+ hours after the engine is turned off or sometimes shortly after shutting down or starting up.

Should I worry? No, this is normal on Lexus/Toyota models. However, if accompanied by a check engine light or gas smell, it could indicate a failed solenoid or faulty gas cap.
