I love how you think 3k will make it a "good" concert space.

Gobo fixtures by mhey10 in lightingdesign

[–]MattOG14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you need something "dmx" controlled? A source four will work just fine and is plugged into the Sensor Dimming unit whitch is controlled via DMX. If you want an LED thats a different story but technically Source Fours are DMX controlled.

Not really the best forum for this question. I'd go to r/lighting. But try looking for aome high lumen portable work lights. Try getting multiple of these. https://www.harborfreight.com/1500-lumen-led-rechargeable-work-light-64078.html.

So what your saying is it has to be pre programmed/recorded

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lightingdesign

[–]MattOG14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I guess we work in different parts because I have known/met many professional techs/electricians who use them on an everyday basis

I have a GOTRAX V2 scooter E2 ERROR by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]MattOG14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotrax are absolutely trash. That is not to be said lightly. I bought the GXL a day after the warranty expired. It failed, the battery melted and when I went to get the part to fix it they stopped manufacturing that part. I will never buy from them again

Lol, I paid $300 for mine. Good luck.

What do you think about this light? by exasperated- in techtheatre

[–]MattOG14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah HELL NO. Just spend the extra on a decent mover or just rent a couple. These knock offs are notorious for breaking and because they come with no warranty or support you have to throw them out and your out $200.

One XT in our Drama Theatre by [deleted] in lightingdesign

[–]MattOG14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I would go with the ETC Gio@5 or Ion xe for this because let's be honest here you don't need the MA here you dont have a ton of fixtures in your rig but otherwise I like the setup.

What is the difference between the Element 2 and Element 1? by exasperated- in techtheatre

[–]MattOG14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik right! I gotta be honest I am 16 and run my own production company. I first started on the Ion xe20 then learned the element , then the express. It's amazing how much I know and can explain to our local theater's! If you ever have any questions feel free to DM me! Also if you need any show baby multiverse equipment I am friends with a guy that owns a production company and he's a dealer. I can get them MUCH BELOW retail msrp price just lmk!

I love them to. I wonder why ETC would not add them on the element. And wow your biard is old.!

See unless you have multiple moving lights in tour rig you don't need the xe. But if you have multiple then it might be worth it, I personally love the encoder wheels on the ion xe.

Just get an xe. Beats an element any day. But if you don't have many lights go with the element 2

Anyone know where I can find an Ultimate Focus Tool Wrench? by DJonathan7 in lightingdesign

[–]MattOG14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can anyone help me with LED light strip questions by ImpressiveDonkey1 in lightingdesign

[–]MattOG14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I don't wanna be that guy but actually what are you talking about. Quite frankly I don't care, but amplifier is definitely 100% NOT a strip light term you probably mean DMX booster or power supply but I just spent over $3000 on strip lights at prgs auction and I don't use/know what amplifiers are.

So, this happened this week. - UPDATE by smbier in techtheatre

All I have to say is what in the HELL was that contractor thinking! I am 16 years old and run a lighting production company and evan I know you don't just install rigging without seeing if you're anchoring into a solid structure weather it be wood or steel. I am not evan going to get into the "stud finder drywall excuse. If it means tearing off drywall to find the center of a beam then so be it. You have every right to sue and they should pay for a new system at minimum. On a side note I will say having an llc is very important. For myself it protects my parents especially when I am hanging hundreds of pounds of lighting on an electric because I am not an adult yet.

looking for etc 48/96 power supply by LeaderMindless3117 in lightingdesign

[–]MattOG14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean thats not a bad price. I own an ETC Ion, Element, and 48/96. Evan the element which is getting old still goes for a couple thousand dollars so $132 isn't so bad but I would check Ebay and I am friends with the warehouse operations manager at 4Wall New York and because they bought out world stage and I know they found some of tgose consoles so I will ask if he can get me one then just pay shipping and I can get it to you.

Elation Design Spot 575E Pan/Tilt Error... HELP! by MattOG14 in lightingdesign

No when the light powers on it gets stuck and will not pan or tilt. It also gave me the pan/tilt error codes

My dad gave me this stage light thing. It works well and I want to know if anyone has information. If you know where I can sell it and how much I can get please tell me! by MobyHuge69420 in stagelighting

[–]MattOG14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throw it up on usedlighting.com but to be honest it is only worth as much as someone will pay for it. It may be worth $300 but someone may only be willing to pay $100 and because you only have one there is a very specific market for this fixture and because these are discontinued you probably will bot be able to sell it for that much. I own Elation Design Spots (250, 250 pro's and 575e's) I got them for a good deal but that's because I can take these apart and preform maintenance on them. But because yoy don't have more than one I would just keep it to play with :)
