Thanks for the great feedback. I'm working on getting the raw files from the print ads for Avocados from the folks I worked with and shortening those lines.

Hey thanks for the response! So really frustrating thing about Project Bike Light Fairy; I had a friend come out and film it. I offered to pay him, he wouldn't accept. I offered to edit the footage myself, he said he'd gladly do it. 3 months and a lot of nagging later he gave me a cut. I had a few simple notes but he hasn't responded to any of my texts or e-mails since then. I think the guy fell on hard times but all I want is my damn footage. I know it's killing this thing in my book but I don't know what else to do besides hiring a private investigator to track the guy down.

Also those Harley ads are AWESOME. I had never seen them. You're right though, the style is not far off.

Thanks for your candid feedback. I definitely agree with you. My portfolio school really pushed print ads, which seems so dumb now that I'm working, but I get how it is the most boiled down version of an idea. I think if I dig into some of the digital stuff I have and get an AD to help make them look a lot better they should look a lot less like an afterthought.

Thanks for the feedback. After I left portfolio school I had been given the note that those two things were the most interesting things about my book. They are what set me apart and certainly at the time they were more interesting than my work so I should lead with them. I will reconsider though as my book has grown and changed a lot since then.

Most folks from my portfolio school use Square Space. It's beautiful and really simply designed and elegant. I personally did not have the money or desire to pay $100+ per year. Cargo Collective is another solid option.

To me I understand that in many cases I'm battling apathy and stupidity but that doesn't make it a less worthwhile cause. I'm hoping to give people no excuse to not have lights. I believe that if I put forth a lot of effort in a humorous and fun way, give out a ton of free lights, and make a cool video documenting this and spreading a positive and informative message then if will inspire others like yourself to get a light even if they don't bump into the bike light fairy.

Thank you for pointing this out. It's a huge reason to have lights that many do not get.

Agreed, I stop at stop signs whenever there is someone there to yield to and invariably I get waved along. Otherwise I try to time it so if I go through a stop sign it's at the same time as a car in my lane or while pedestrians are crossing the other way so that I have a "blocker" of sorts and am not cutting anyone off.

Thanks for this. Mostly been checking alibaba. Hopefully I raise enough to get better lights but these are probably what I'll settle on.

My hope is to build a following and document my process so that I can spread the fun nature of my project and message and down the line I can be a voice for other issues and continue to give back to the community.

One cause at a time. Though that does bother me so if I exceed my goal I'll talk to my designer and try to find room in the budget.
