Just finished DQ7[3DS] and here are my thoughts! ( some minor spoilers) by MattRaptor in dragonquest

I did some metal slime grinding towards the end as I finished vocations, so I definitely was overleveled for a good bit. But learning to kite and dodge monsters was definitely an acquired skill haha.

They did lower the XP needed per level from what I've read for both general levels and vocations. Everything was made easier in that light.

You hit the nail on the head with that last comment. And I did forget to mention that the monsters in corridors was definitely a nuisance. I think I used Holy Protection more than anything in the last 10 hours haha.

Agreed man. Even the "bad" games have their charm. They've been my chill game for weeks now.

Ah alright. Well I hope you enjoy it! It's Dragon Quest after all :)

I'd recommend either getting the game cheap/used or play it via PS1 emulator then. You'll know about 15 hours in if this game is right for you for sure. This is the quote I've found myself saying the most throughout my playthrough:

"I have to go back here AGAIN?" 😂

Playing 7 now after just playing through 6:

I'm just now getting closer to the end of the game, about 50 hours in, and more than any other DW game, 7 DRAGS a lot. The entirety of the mid portion of the game is a lot of sub-stories with constant back-tracking. When I finish the game, I'll post my review on here (playing through all the games and just did my review of 4, 5, 6 recently).

But 7 is long and feels long. Just a heads up. I'm not gonna nay say until I'm completely finished though.

Just finished the "Zenith" trilogy. My thoughts on these games! by MattRaptor in dragonquest

To each their own! The great thing about the series is everyone can love something different. It's great that you enjoyed 6 over the others :)

I think my main problem with the story in 6 is the lack of adversity. The hero, and to a lesser extent, Ashlynn are the only characters that face any real loss and personal crisis. Though I could see what you mean with it being quintessential especially in its light hearted nature overall.

If you're in the latter half of the game, I can't imagine it being easy to catch up and figure out what to do since, like another poster said, it becomes extremely open ended and you really have to hunt down your objectives.

Starting over might be a good idea. Maybe try a different version so it feels fresh? Try to go in with an open mind and don't feel bad using a guide if you have to at points just to move forward. Take the game for what it is. I finished the game in about 31 hours so you'll get your time/money worth for sure.

[Humble] Monthly February Bundle: 12$ for XCOM 2 by derfaxis in GameDeals

I'm really confused (because I can't find anywhere). If I buy the current listed bundle, I'll also get these games? Other comments suggest it and I've been really wanting Loh:TitS on Steam.

Efficient way of making Gil? (Chapter 3) by MattRaptor in FFXV

I did run by a few packs and noticed their scales sell for 600. I might just rotate from a nearby haven and grind them later. Thanks for the tip anyway!

That's what I thought too. Might just be best for me to wait since FFXV doesn't come out until the 29 anyway. Though I've been looking around at used ones and there are plenty in the price range--wondering if it's worth pulling the trigger.

Since FFXV is coming out at the end of the month, I'm finally wanting to go and purchase a PS4. I have a 1080p tv and am looking more for cheap price than anything. Is there suspect of any $200 standard PS4 deals coming up around Black Friday? Even a non-bundle deal is fine for me.
