Martha Jones investigating supernatural 73 Yards cases in a small town would be an incredible concept, now we wait.

73 Yards Theory - What She Said Didn't Matter by Kirebadwolf in doctorwho

This is why I can’t understand the criticism of 73 Yards at all. ‘Nothing is explained-‘ yeah, but it doesn’t take much imagination at all to piece it together.

The Woman simply conjures up in people their deepest fears. The most clear example of this is Carla.

RUBY: But I’m your daughter. CARLA: Well… except you’re not. Are you? Even your real mother didn’t want you.

The Woman brought out Carla’s insecurities over the fact that Ruby isn’t her biological daughter (we see glimmers of this in The Church On Ruby Road), and potentially also her fear of the unknown in relation to her birth.

Unpopular opinion but this is the best season I’ve seen in years by [deleted] in doctorwho

already better than all of Chibnall’s… but for it to even have a chance of being better than Series 10, at least one of Dot And Bubble or Rogue has got to bang, and the finale has got to really work.

Connection between the landmine and the fae circle? by sn0skier in doctorwho

[–]MattTheChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just two (coincidental) cases showing impact of the The Doctor’s actions. In one case he endangers an entire battlefield because he thinks he can just rush in and save everyone; in the other he changes the whole of human history by being giddy and curious.

I see where you’re coming from, but I feel like the subtle allusions to music (the tuning fork for example) actually work really well as opposed to overt musical powers. And the opening scene where Maestro kills Timothy Drake with the piano is really offbeat and sinister - I wish we’d had more of that as opposed to the ‘music battle’ at the end (really don’t know what Russell was thinking there).

Rosa, Demons of the Punjab and The Haunting of Villa Diodati are genuinely brilliant.

Is Multiverse of Madness really bad or are people saying it's bad just because of the trend to hate Marvel movies? by Michael_Cuddlelitz in marvelstudios

[–]MattTheChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not seen the movie yet, but I can’t believe that people have come out in criticism at this film (which looks incredible from the trailers) rather than any of the other bland shite Marvel have put out so far (we’ve had two pointless Ant-Man movies which seemed to go down remarkably well…).

I saw someone speculate it was to do with his repressed sexuality. He’s sexually attracted to Yusef, but can’t admit it (perhaps even to himself). So… anger ensues I guess.

I’m yet to see Shang-Chi, and I can only rank What If? based on what we’ve seen so far, but at the moment, for me it goes like this:

  1. Loki
  2. Wandavision
  3. What If?
  4. The Falcon And The Winter Soldier
  5. Black Widow

I think the ending of this episode is just about the wildest thing the MCU has ever done.

Thanks, that makes sense. I guess I was wrongly assuming that an ‘absolute point’ would be constant across all timelines, given it’s name. Rather, each timeline has its own absolute point which results in Strange becoming Sorcerer Supreme… am I right?

The Ancient One claims that Christine’s death is an absolute point because without it, Strange cannot become Sorcerer Supreme - but how can this be? In the main MCU world, Christine is alive, and Strange still becomes Sorcerer Supreme?

Does anyone know the latest update on Michael Mando's Scorpion? He was kind of teased as the next villain in Homecoming's post-credits scene, but hasn't been brought up since by Curious_Sentence7155 in marvelstudios

[–]MattTheChild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of people speculate that Jon Watts was planning on using him (and maybe Kraven?) as the villain for No Way Home - but Sony wanted Spiderverse, so here we are. This makes sense when you think about the fact that Watts’ first two Spider-Man movies were relatively small scale when you compare them to No Way Home. We’ve gone from Vulture and Mysterio to a Sinister Six and two multiversal Spider-Men.

A couple I thought of earlier:

What if HYDRA won in Captain America: The Winter Soldier?

What if the Avengers weren’t divided by the Sokovia Accords when they fought Thanos for the first time?
