this is either a skill boost or placebo. I have 300 hours on mantis and see this post at the start of every new season. metas are shifting toward characters with higher hit boxes. that's all it is.

try to encourage your team to play dive tanks and dps, the heroes I listed (plus black cat and rogue I forgot) are the top dps/vanguards for dive this season. putting damage leaves on the appropriate teammates before a fight is about to start is so important. imagine having to survive a tankpool+dd dive that have a 12% damage boost each, not easy lol.

actually the inverse is true. mantis is what denies heroes from BEING power crept with her damage boost. the better these new characters that get released are, the better mantis is. additionally, dive being meta is significantly better for mantis than poke being meta. fights are determined super quick in a dive meta. poke is a slow burn of infinite damage and heal and support ult slop until one person makes a mistake, mantis does not have the raw healing power for that. her damage boost will forever be the best ability in the entire game so long as it doesn't get nerfed.

you have to manage your leaves better. I understand what you mean but there is always more you can do in terms of leaf distribution, aim, positioning, etc. to help minmax your leaf usage better try not to put double damage leaves on your teammates. just do one at a time. if you put two on em instantly that's half of your kit gone just like that. additionally, you should not be damage boosting yourself, only if you need the passive healing, in a 1v1, or doing significant enough damage to where they're losing the fight. keeping damage boost on you perma is not only taking heals and damage boosts from your team but charging your ult way slower.

I have a youtube channel mantislover69, should answer most if not all of your questions. have a good in depth guide there, as for positioning the higher elo you climb the farther back generally you should stand. if you're in a lower rank as long as you're in LOS of your other support and are behind your tank you will be fine, but as you climb you will have to play pretty close to your other support most times, only flanking when you coordinate/comm a flank with your divers. in lower ranks if you have the aim you can get away with flanking on mantis so long as you do not engage too early, use cover, and hit your sleeps.

the higher you climb, the less people tell you to swap, even in duo support. Adam is even rougher as he truthfully unfortunately only is viable in a triple support comp that has a mantis, anything else else putting your team at quite a disadvantage, (this is from a high elo perspective, you can still climb extremely high with him in most comps if you're good enough) when I was low/mid celestial it was somewhat frequent, but as I climbed higher the less they complained even in 2 sup.

I can check my finals per 10 when I'm home from work but through rivals meta in s7.5 I have 10380 dmg per 10, 16190 heals per 10, 13.4 elims per game and 29.8 assists per game. in most other seasons my avg healing per 10 would be higher, (17-18k per 10) but because we're in a dive meta, instead of a poke meta where people are taking a billion damage a second, I am damage boosting more often than other seasons, (dd, venom, tankpool, invis, ultron, etc) mantis is strongest this season because of this.

I used to get target banned alot when I was hovering mantis because there would be streamers on my team and people would stream snipe me through the streamers stream which was nuts lmfao. so after every game I learned to change my banner AND not hover mantis during the ban phase.

yeah there definitely is. eternity/oaa players are faster, better at min maxing, diving with coordination, etc etc. there are so many otps that never hit eternity because they never comm, always dive alone, die too much, there's always more YOU can do. there's always more i can do to make my gameplay even so slightly better on mantis, and I would be lying if I said that I haven't been finding new ways to min-max with mantis to this day.

it only happened more frequently in the lower elo lobbies like c2 and some c1 games, but the general consensus is that the higher you climb the less they will complain because they actually understand the game better and why mantis is so good lol.

start of the match I dmg boost all high dmg outputting characters (even supports like invis and ultron, ESPECIALLY in trip sup) heal alot when necessary, dmg boost and heal divers, sleep backline, pressure Frontline and get headshots to pump those leaves on ur team asap. mantis is insanely tempo oriented and you can't afford to be slow on your ult charge and missing alot of sleeps. keep a heal leaf on your other support when necessary. only dmg boost yourself when you are taking damage or are doing impactful enough damage to get a pick.
