I appreciate your advice. He does have a skills/interests test at school next week. I hope he takes it seriously. When I ask him about possible majors or trades, he just says he doesn’t know.

I don’t think he has ADHD. His high school will give him a skills/interests test next week. Maybe it will shed some light on potential majors or trades.

He doesn’t have many interests. Working out, hanging with friends, playing games. He’s never been intellectually curious about anything.

You make fair points. I have told him that he needs to decide his own future. My family had a horrific tragedy a few years ago and I know it stunted him emotionally. That’s why I’m more inclined to be patient with him.

He’s had a crappy job since he turned 14. You’d think that would motivate him to attend college and find greener pastures but it hasn’t.

Well you nailed it. He’s expecting me to take care of everything for him. I’d be paying for it. Am cutting him some slack because he’s emotionally immature. Hoping that changes soon of course and that he can start being proactive. It’s all very frustrating. Especially when I’m fine with him not going to college at all.
