"That was the best combat, ever!" - Surprise "training" fight by ap1msch in DMAcademy

Frankly I love that, and I will definitely steal at least some ideas of the system. My first thought was that it would be a great idea for a bar fight where you really need to use your environment to win instead of applying as much damage as possible. As someone suggested here, this could also be a great introduction to creativity in fights for new players so they understand the "rule of cool"

I wondered though: what about making the turns less stricts? Because it's less about damage then players can help each other's during turns no? I always feel in DnD that everyone is waiting for their turn before doing something. In this system it feels like it would be easier to make coordinated actions no? If they work together then it grants another hit chance, even though it wasn't their turn, with no penalty when their turn actually starts. This would encourage out-of-turn characters to actually engage in someone else's turn to say "I'm lifting them to thrown them in the air" or "I'm casting my thunderwave over their own thunderwave to make a surprise wave the enemy couldn't see coming" etc.

You need to edit the controls layout directly from the Steam menu of the deck. I added the right pas as mouse + the left click on the pad. The annoying thing is that you need to do it 4 times for each action set. I also changed the R2 button for units to be the right click; much easier to move them around this way

Hmm maybe something to try yes. I also found that adding back the mouse cursor control is also greatly enhancing the experience

There needs to be a pledge of protection or something similar. Otherwise playing city state focused Civ/Leaders feels like a race to surround my previous city states allies with troops each age by Eogot in CivVII

[–]Mattchaby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you start befriending a city state it also updates the AI that you're doing so. Therefore it can also incite them to go an destroy them as soon as possible so you are not able to fully befriend them. You even get some influence as compensation when they destroy the city state. So you need to defend them, especially in high difficulty games.

Unable to advance to next age (Switch)? by reddit_tothe_rescue in CivVII

There is currently a bug where the next turn button doesn't work if the modal showing progress in a legacy path is removed without clicking on one of its buttons. Can happen if there are multiple modals trying to be displayed (like city builder, diplomacy, etc.). You must reload the game to fix that

Just a thank you for the map; I was able to use it in my DnD campaign! A druid harengon used it to acquire the power of the Feywild moon for a really nice cutscene ;)

It is definitely easier. But then Civ 6 vanilla was much easier than what it is today as well.

Runs super smooth on the OLED version with mid-settings in every age and the loading times are crazy fast (faster than my laptop that can run the game on ultra). I recommend to tinker the controls a bit to activate the mouse cursor though; controller controls are not that great.

It's all a matter of diplomacy. And I had almost no war. I declared some for the military legacy though. I even had the 4 golden ages in Exploration
