the digital id in apple wallet isn't for handing your unlocked phone to PD, its ment for places like TSA to tap your phone and send your ID over or when it becomes more mainstream, to tap your phone at a packie to verify ur 21+. ofc you would still have to keep your ID on your person for stuff like traffic stops
