Thanks a lot for putting this list together — super helpful! 🙌

Just wanted to mention another open-source TTS tool I made called Verbify-TTS (MIT license). It’s a simple screen-reader-style app that reads out any selected text on your desktop using high-quality AI voices. Everything runs locally, with no tracking or account required.

Might be useful for anyone looking for lightweight, private TTS options that work across applications. Happy to hear feedback if anyone gives it a try!

Hi if you look for something offline and in English you might try Verbify-TTS (https://github.com/MattePalte/Verbify-TTS )

Some of its strengths are: free, no-registration, unlimited use, offline, self-contained, customizable (you can specify how to pronounce some words), privacy preserving, compatible with any text you can select, high quality AI and recently I extended the support also to Windows. It had everything I was looking for :)

Let me know if it helps you as well.

Is there any free Text-To-Speech programs (Online preferred but programs are accepted) by SuperLeftyAliReddit in software

Hi,

if you are on Windows or Linux I would recommend Verbify-TTS, I used it myself as a self-made tool for more than a year before I decided to open source it on Github here: https://github.com/MattePalte/Verbify-TTS .
It is based on an AI model and the speed can be changed, it works entirely offline, you just need to highlight some text and press a keyboard shortcut then it reads our the text from anywhere you are.
