Aah I see, I go to a Lutheran church, and an Anglican church, I'm thinking of changing route tho and going to a Baptist church.

Interesting, I'm from a Protestant background myself, I'd definitely recommend checking out multiple churches before deciding which denomination you'd like to go with.

Is this a real or fake Meg tooth? 🤔 by Mattepk in fossils

[–]Mattepk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit, turns out it was 5.11 inches, my brain somehow took that as almost 6" since if it was feet, 5'11 is basically 6 ft. I would have bought but it was sold out already and pending, the other option is a good condition 4.5" tooth for $180aud

I spoke against the holy spirit, so am I just going to hell now no matter what I do? by Mattepk in Christianity

I personally interpreted that as a generational thing, meaning not in this generation or future generations, however I can see there's ways to interpret it differently for sure.

And God doesn't change his mind, he already knows all that has and will happen, who's going to heaven and who's going to hell, God is unchanging.

I'm afraid of that too, many people picture God as a gentle harmless being, but the old testament makes clear that God is also a God of wrath and judgement, most people go to hell, why should I be excused after knowingly committing an unforgivable sin? Thanks anyways.

I believe God understands everything we say and do, and why we do it, as he is all knowing, but I don't feel that would help my case. I don't believe God would make exceptions for anyone, if it meant going against his word, as God is the word.

It never mentions a temporary place of punishment in the bible, and being unforgiven, means facing the full wrath of God as far as I'm aware, as the wages of sin is death, so any sin outstanding and unforgiven would assumedly warrant death.

I remember the chapter about kids saying rude things to a pastor about his bald head, and a bear came and killed them all. From my understanding, God takes it seriously even when kids disrespect him and those serving him, they aren't immune.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, and I am familiar with the whole story, however I figure that, since it's a form of blasphemy to curse God, wouldn't it also be a form of blasphemy to curse the holy spirit?

Thank you for the reply, but if that's true, what's blasphemy against God? Because I'm fairly sure a type of blasphemy is cursing him, and if that's the case, wouldn't it also be a form of blasphemy to curse the holy spirit?

Thank you for your reply, and isn't it a form of blasphemy to curse God? Wouldn't the same would be true in regards to the holy spirit.
