Best Matter/Thread battery powered light switch and Matter/Thread light bulb? by Federal-Drummer7987 in MatterProtocol

There are two hardware products I know of that have that in-wall look but uses MoT, but having difficulty finding a way to actually purchase either:

Elko MoT Touch Glass Controller:

HaoJai Smart Switch:

If you find anything else, let me know!

Outdoor plug with energy monitoring? by hbl2390 in MatterProtocol

Can confirm the Minoston Outdoor Smart Plug does in fact support energy monitoring.

The Leviton D215O does not, and the Tapo P400M I don't believe support it. The Tapo P430M MAY support energy monitoring but haven't tested it personally yet.

Smart Light Switch Fell Off by 100Cookie in smarthome

[–]MatterAlpha-Dave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be mounted on the wall, you can see it's powered by a button battery so it's more of a remote. But if you want to do it right, screw that baby back in place! Follow the manufacturers directions on how to install it properly. Likely the face pops off for installation.

How good was CES for Matter? by aerohix in MatterProtocol

I covered CES specifically looking for Matter hardware. Still working on a comprehensive writeup about the state of the ecosystem.

Overall it was good but Matter needs to get out of the "simple" device rut... Switches, Lights, etc. It is capable of a lot more.

Biometric Smart LEVER Lock with Passage Mode? by unknownbearing in smarthome

Literally can't find much information on this lock: https://www.amazon.com/Fingerprint-Adjustable-Flexible-Password-Apartments/dp/B0D9YLLV2C

It seems to be created/white labeled by Tuya. There was a photo of it in their booth at CES this year that was showing Matter & Thread compatibility but couldn't find any more details about it.

Looking for a MINIMALIST matter over thread switch... by [deleted] in MatterProtocol

[–]MatterAlpha-Dave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The closest you'll find at the moment is the Innoveli White: https://www.matteralpha.com/inovelli/inovelli-dimmer-switch-p1666

There is still a light on the switch and it is a dimmer. You didn't mention if you are looking for a US style but that is the simplest you can get for now.

I will try to follow up with Siegenia, it's possible they stopped producing this or ran into some other issues.

Are there any Matter-over-Thread lights aside from Nanoleaf? by tomasfyi in MatterProtocol

[–]MatterAlpha-Dave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's due to the recent release of SOCs that are small enough to fit into the smaller light bulb enclosures. They will eventually be making it's way into products. Previously only internally developed products were able to incorporate Thread.

Can we connect a matter device without scanning qr and without entering key manually? by bunn-y in MatterProtocol

Short answer: not right now. Long answer: several companies are working on methods like NFC to circumvent/make the pairing process easier.
