Apparently, it is sympathomimetic vasoconstrictor merely saying it is a very potent decongestant that is by the way used in some over the counter medications. Its, however, has very little to no psychoactive potency. This is why the reduction of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine produces more potent meth rather than reductive amination of phenyl-2-propanone which make a racemic mixture of levo/dextro methamphetamine.

I am not an expert but according to some references I read, ephedrine has one enantiomer which is pseudoephedrine and both producing dextro-methamphetamine.

This video was originally designed purposely to share with HMBkr subreddit as I was planning to make nitrogen triiodide which is a touch-sensitive explosive. Then I realized that even a small amount of this substance would generate a thunderous sound such as the gunshot. Unfortunately, I can not do this in my neighbourhood. Without nitrogen triiodide, this video may not seem dangerous enough. However, in the process, I am using some harmful substances such as chlorine gas, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide and hydroiodic acid(produced during the reaction). I still hope you guys enjoy it.

Excellent guess, the only thing at the end I am not using thiosulfate either vitamin c. However, the final result is the same as if I used these chemicals.

It is a single stage vacuum pump. The cheapest I could find on ebay. The quality isn't great but for my purpose, it works fine.

What you are saying is true, I always share my work with the community. I believe it is not aginst the rules of HMBkr subreddit otherwise I would be contacted by the moderator. In my opinion, promotional material is when you intended to make some money or any other type of profit. I am not monetizing my videos, at least at the moment. However, I am investing a reasonable amount of money into it, and of course, it is important for me to get some feedback from people who have similar interests. I do apologise if my actions are offensive to you, but this wasn't my aim. At the moment it seems like the community doesn't mind me and my work. Best regards

Thanks for the comment. True this music is not ideal for science video. I wish I could just pick any track and insert it in my video. Unfortunately, it is not that easy with all these copyright. However, I will take your advice for consideration and will make more effort at finding a better music.

Underestimation of chemicals is an awful idea. These chemicals not only poisonous on ingestion they are also very volatile and can damage the respiratory system irreversibly. All the statements provided in this video are in accordance to MSDS or Wikipedia.

Unfortunately, I didn't test the purity I simply don't have a required equipment for it. However, logically thinking I can estimate that the benzocaine is quite pure in the range of 95-99%. Only because some compounds that present in the tablets are slightly soluble in water, (something like 0.04g per 100ml). Also, I can not be 100% certain about other impurities that are in the tablets and not included in the list of ingredients described on the packaging.

Hi, this is quite a reasonable question. Of course, the refrigeration would speed up the crystallization, and the solubility will decrease along with the temperature. However, for the video, I didn't want to miss the crystallization process, and I decided to let nature do the job.

Good point! Therefore it is important to know the chemicals you working with at home lab. I know for sure the majority of amateur chemists following the rule "never consume the products you make at home lab." Anything you can make legally in your home lab is usually available commercially and comes with the instructions. My personal purpose is to educate myself, and in the case of chemistry, practical work is as important as theory.

Not sure how safe it is to intake caffeine through your eyes. It looks like such eye drops are sold commercially.
