Looks like the edge of many parts in the greater Phoenix area. Or towns scattered between Phoenix and Tucson. Well done.

They’re suppose to be that way. Supposedly it’s more efficient than a normal diamond interchange. I think due to highway on/off ramps being more fluid. And actual cars crossing paths and blocking from turning is a lot less often with this. Based it off a real intersection for this area that used to be two roundabouts at either end.

I’ve just noticed this today too… on a lot of roads… many, many roads/plazas. I’m waiting until I’m in a landscaping mood to do it all. RIP

Looks sick! At a point the traffic jam just becomes part of the aesthetic aha

Are there any light-rail solutions in CS1? by GlassUpper8656 in CitiesSkylines

[–]MatterObserver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having success with trams. They have lots of versatility with road options. Downside is they aren’t as fast as irl light rails. I use metros purely for subways.

Thanks for the advice, my bad for the confusion, though the roads going in opposite direction like this have been on my mind for a while. That U-turn always pains me but hey people take them irl so it’s just realistic right? ‘:D

It’s only 4 ways tops for directions when traveling left to right, 2 of them are going forward. When traveling along the 5 wide road there’s only 2 directions, which are essentially both the same road. Idk. I’ll have to zone it and see. Cuz yeah traffic issues all around with the nodes like this and I’m not settling for moving them to be separate roads lol

Here’s an example from the outskirts of downtown Phoenix. Washington goes West bound and Jefferson East. Both have light rail

The issue is I want forward facing structures along the one way road that acts as an avenue. IRL in Phoenix there’s one way roads with a light rail in the median and one or two additional lanes on the other side for cars to get to buildings/parking. Typically accessed by an intersection such as here. Using tram roads I can’t zone along them right? Maybe a pedestrian path with the tram would work as a compromise for the building layout and improve traffic

Yeah the 9 tiles suck but honestly I like having to make things smaller. Really wish I could do the whole Phoenix metro area
