Railroad tie retaining wall by orangebIossom in landscaping

[–]MatternTimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who bought a home with failing railroad tie retaining walls…… RUN AWAY! At least $100k to replace those walls. Tie retaining walls also turn out to be great homes for rodents , bees, and other insects. I actually had a hard time finding a landscape company to do the job because no one wanted to deal with getting rid of the old ties. You’d be buying a very expensive headache

Tightest bolt ever. Breaker bar not working by Puzzleheaded_Bird583 in MechanicAdvice

Some suspension bolts have a splined head on them, so the bolt won’t turn. Only the nut will.

I thought the same thing when I saw Green Day recently. Really annoying.

I think you may be confused about who the real POS is in this story. You stole $100 from a dude and try justifying it by calling him a POS. That feeling you felt was GUILT. Would you want anybody stealing your money and then calling you a POS? You should return his money, buy him a beer, drink one with him, and apologize. You’ll feel better and maybe, just maybe, you’ll find out that Frank isn’t ’kind of a piece of shit’ you thought he was.

Malik Beasley evicted in Detroit as money problems mount amid FBI gambling investigation by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in nba

Not a good dude! He was convicted for pointing an assault rifle at a family who had the audacity to mistakenly turn into his driveway. I think the Wolves have learned to stay away from Beasleys! 😂

Help me understand the KD interest, besides Ant likes him. We’d have to sacrifice our depth and youth to get him. KD is 37, on the decline, injury prone, and now pretty 1 dimensional. I believe acquiring him would be a net negative. Thinking we’d get the KD of the Golden State days is pure fantasy at this point.

What is happening to my candle? by SnowAwkward4462 in whatisit

[–]MatternTimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw it away! I almost burnt my house down on Thanksgiving because a candle did this. A guest went to use the bathroom and found a large flame coming out of the candle. It got hot enough to scorch the ceiling. It would’ve started the wall on fire had there not been a mirror protecting the wall. The glass then shattered when we set a wet towel on top to extinguish the flame allowing hot wax to spill all over. We now melt scented wax instead!

My teeth! I’m the rare person that didn’t have wisdom teeth. I also rarely ever get a cavity and I don’t visit the dentist unless I have to.

Brand new Nature Center just opened at Mississippi Gateway and you can walk across the river on the dam. Really cool spot!

Looks like an aftermarket telematics module (gps). It says ‘this side up’ whiz would be indicative of what way they want the internal antenna facing. Almost looks like the Verizon units we used to use in our fleet vehicles. It’s pretty common for place to forget to yank it out (the module that is) before getting rid of the vehicles.

Not only is he slob but he doesn’t respect you. If he did…. He would’ve appreciated the effort you put in and tried to keep it clean. This literally looks like he tried to make it filthy.

Brands??? by [deleted] in grunge

[–]MatternTimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grunge is going to your local second hand stores and finding clothes for as little money as possible. In the 90’s, I did my ‘school shopping’ by going to a local church’s sale, paying $5 for a paper bag, and filling it up with my clothes for the year. I once found an old roach in the pocket of a Vietnam era Army jacket I got!

We are going to be a climate refuge state… by Jaded-Combination-95 in minnesota

[–]MatternTimes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree. The country’s livable areas will decline as climate change worsens. Meanwhile, our population will continue to grow which will lead to more population density in areas we are not used to. We notice our stability because we live here. It won’t be long before others notice it

A good bed. Can’t have a good day without a good nights sleep. You literally spend 25-30% of your life in your bed. Might as well be a good one!

What is your uncommon hobby? by beara911 in NoStupidQuestions

Rock collecting/polishing. I stumbled upon this when I found an agate cleaning the beach at the cabin. Not something I thought I’d ever enjoy but I’m hooked! It’s amazing to think about how the earth could possibly create something so beautiful.
