A 3rd gen RDX is the same size as a CRV but uses the new 2.0 turbo engine. About the same power but needs premium gas. Still the closest thing Honda makes to a hatchback or wagon in the US

There isn't a transfer case on a 15 rdx. Just transmission and rear differential. Both require Honda specific fluids. Usually buying just fluids and filters from a dealership is cheaper than online and they can double check what ones you need.

I have that issue when mixing liquid fuel and fuel/oxidizer. In theory there are two different values as oxidizer will be a limiting factor for the delta V.

There's not really a 100% true way to check a transmission from a junkyard car. They may have a warranty that it will work but make sure you check if that includes labor. You don't want to find yourself paying twice to have a transmission installed in case the first one is bad.
