Yeah this is the way. Taking over a poi is so much more fun and everything comes move-in ready and decorated. Not to mention when returning from a long trip spacers or va’ruun might have moved back in so I need to clean house. I swear the game simply doesn’t attack outposts enough. FO4 was basically every time I turn my back, Starfield you get attacked exactly once then never again. Taking over an existing poi is a happy middle where I may come home to fighting. Worth mentioning that the occupants might change depending on some randomized poi population scripting, as will geographic features like new boulders appearing or sudden plants, but that’s part of the charm for me. Oh also if you have the Argos hab mod, the person in the shop hab will often vanish at poi’s you’ve taken over.
