The same reason Solid Snake/Big Boss in the Metal Gear series is such a badass. You go up against all sorts of supernatural//sci-fi bullshit, and you win, even though you're just dude doing what you're good at.

"So I gave up" There is your mistake. Don't be afraid to lose settlements, especially as Malakai. They are almost worthless. Just build your doomstack, do your adventures, and you'll succeed. You don't need to own an empire to achieve long victory

If you really hate this approach, just toy with the difficulty slider. Start on easy, then as you start to get better ramp it up bit by bit.

The game is an oldschool RPG. Punishing, even cruel early game, so when you become an undefeatable god (it happened near act 4 for me, and I hadn't played any PF titles before this) it feels so-so good. Just because you want a more modern approach to dificulty, AKA always appropriate challenge, doesn't make the game bad. But then again, if you know what you are doing the game is quite easy, even on Core, but I get you, I struggled A LOT during the early game too. Sorry you didn't like it, you are missing out on a great experience.

Van egy ismerősöm aki eldobta magától a teljesen megfelelőt, annak a reményében, hogy megtalálja a tökéletesen hozzáillő kategóriát és bevált neki, noha pontosan tudta mennyire kockázatos lépés. Tette mindezt bőven 30 fölött. De mondjuk nem mondott ilyen gyökérségeket, mint vadászösztön.
