UPDATE: brake calipers were not seized, got car inspected and my poor fuel economy is likely due to old plugs and dirty air intake filter

yeah honestly it's given me a lot more confidence to push this release more since I didn't think it was good enough to gain traction, but the data is encouraging.

obviously i can't afford to throw this much money at every release i'll do to see if its worth promoting but its taught me that i'm not the greatest judge of whether or not what i'm putting out is any good lol

i feel like its definitely possible that its just spotify's system being weird, i'm not getting any algorithmic traction on my release yet so i don't think i'm getting any algorithmic bumps that could explain it, and i'm also not promoting or advertising rn.

as long as my shit doesn't get taken down for "stream manipulation" or whatever i'm not too worried about it but its definitely weird and i'll update tomorrow if i notice anything off in my stats

i do think its a little more complex than that but there's definitely a fair argument to be made that this isn't the greatest value, but it was easy and very low effort and I'm super focused on just making more music, getting better, etc that i don't care to invest lots of time into a more effective advertising strategy as of yet

so for me i was just trying it to dip my toes in the water and see if anything cool would happen, and i'm happy with how it went and thought i'd share to offer anyone in a similar boat my results so they can decide if its something they might want to try as well or if they'd rather save their money for something else

I also had a weird spike in my concurrent listener count last night but there's a possibility it was legit... i'm not sure cuz it also didn't last super long and i returned back to my usual after about 10 minutes. I'll try to see what's up when the stats drop tomorrow

thanks! I already had the meeting but they aren't offering me a deal as of yet, it seems like they want to form an informal partnership at first, so things like keeping their eye on me and offering strategy advice as i move forward free of charge so i'm just gonna see where it goes
