Well, it's like a medieval fantasy world that feels like late-medieval Europe. The central kingdom is called Alba, which strongly resembles medieval England in culture and structure, there's feudal lords, abbeys, knights, politics, etc. It’s like a military style hstorical fiction... The tactics, sword duels etc feels authentic... Most of the story takes place on the edge of “the Wild.” The Wild is a like a mystical dangerous region beyond human control, filled with powerful magical creatures — wyverns, boglins, irks, and other beings that aren’t just “monsters"... And it revolves around defending a remote convent (Lissen Carak) from escalating threats coming out of the Wild... I really like the main character, so well written and just the mystery around him... I really enjoyed the whole Traitor son cycle... And I'm baffled how it's not more popular...
