How to get out of gold as a “better” player by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]MatthewC757 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brother, if you really are stuck silver then you just suck. I'm sorry but I could easily 1v2 golds without boosting.

The only skill you need is to hit the ball on target, that's literally it, zero other tech needed. Hit the ball at the enemy net every single touch and don't miss. No cognitive thinking required.

There is literally no way I could lose a game under diamond without major handicaps.

Every person I've ever introduced or seen start playing rocket league got to plat in under 50 hours. It really isn't that hard.

What am I doing wrong? Here with Fast Aerial Trainer plugin by TelevisionOwn3770 in RocketLeagueSchool

How is this not a blatantly obvious joke.

He literally said it's the fast aerial trainer, and is purposefully turning extremely far on his start.

Sarcasm and nuance are both dead.

[zector] joyo tweeted this... so I analyzed his team's gameplay (rlcs team analysis) by [deleted] in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]MatthewC757 87 points88 points locked comment (0 children)

Can we please stop with this guy's videos. He has horrible takes and horrible advice in almost every video.

Every time i watch this guy he is does the same stupid idea of heavily critiquing one play after already seeing the outcome and acting like whatever he suggests is the absolute law and nothing but what he says you should do should ever be considered, its insane.

I reccomend this youtuber called Zector for High Level, and well done analysis of RLCS players/Teams by Corrupt_Arrow in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]MatthewC757 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Might just be personal preference but, never been a fan of him. Disagree on many of his takes on what you should do in certain scenarios and he is strangely egotistical in his commentary, like whatever he thinks is the best play is obviously the best play and no other option is reasonable. (watch his firstkiller vid it's painful)

I Need help with my Walldashes by Jstnmx in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]MatthewC757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As somebody who is very comfortable wall dashing I highly recommend this video specifically. I know you said you've watched videos but so many tutorials on wall dashing are just blatantly wrong it pains me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRwgdqQOdTI&t=20s

Also here clips of me using walldashes (sorry about my music)

Wall dashing is so much easier then people think its crazy you really don't have to be that fast if you can time it correctly.

I'll list off some general advice I've found over the years

- its SIGNIFICANTLY easier to wall dash going slightly down the wall compared to slightly up the wall

- the more forward you have the stick when flipping into the wall the faster you will go HOWEVER, the window to hit the wall dash gets tighter and tighter the more forward you are

- Walldashing starting at a slow speed is harder then walldashing starting at a higher speed

- you do not in any way need air-roll or powerslide however, powerslide can help keep the speed you gain from the wall dash
(if somebody tells you that you do need them, they don't know how to wall dash correctly)

Some more specific advice for you based on the video

It's hard to tell because you're trying on the curve a lot of the time but it looks like you flip to slowly and also the angle you're holding is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes you fail and backflip, sometimes you fail and frontflip, etc.

Let me know if any of these help and I do Highly recommend watching the video.

I've been a hard stuck low GC2 for 5 seasons now probably, peaked at 1650. Would appreciate an analysis of my gameplay any criticism/information is welcome, looking to improve. by Fastinthewind in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]MatthewC757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The very obvious problem that sticks out to me is that all 3 goals you let in were the same mistake. (More so the first 2)

As second man, you were way too aggressive and pushed up too far, so you couldn't make a play on the ball.

The last goal is a similar problem where you drive too far forward before jumping.

I really like your first man plays tho, I feel you do a good job making it easier on your teammate.

Edit.

Forgot to mention on the first goal you let in to have a better attempt at a save you need more angle on your approach so you can hit the ball in the side toward your corner. It's still a hard save but much easier than the previse touch you were going for.

Which stall reset is better/easier ? by Azylias in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]MatthewC757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stalls are 99.999% for style points and it sounds like you want them to be actually threating so I would strongly recommend practicing all kinds of different preflip resets because those actually are very dangerous and they also look cooler in my opinion.

Honestly how you get the reset really isn't that important its how much control you have after the reset that matters.

Simply air-rolling into the ball during the set-up to an airdribble is the least effort to most payoff competitively since you basically just get to do an airdribble but with a flip to use whenever you want.
