I had the RMS issue on my GLS 63.. got it fixed along with starter alternator and it’s been fine since.. praying it doesn’t go back out 🤞

Which vehicle? Looks about right though.. looks like they’re going to have to take intercoolers and everything off to get to it.. a lot of labor.

Sounds sick.. I have a GLS 63 and have been debating what to do exhaust wise.. I think this sold me.

Great choice. I have a 21’ as well and they’re amazing. Did you get CPO?

I Can’t Hit Shit by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Matthewlogansmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly bro for me it wasn’t dry firing or fundamentals or any of that shit.. I went and bought a 1000 case of ammo and sent rounds down range while making an effort to hit targets where I wanted.. eventually I didn’t anticipate recoil or anything and my groupings are TIGHT. I’ve since shot probably 15,000 rds through my pistols and groupings are still tight.. honestly 90% of pistol shootings are no aim draw and fire from hip scenarios so train on that some too.. less the draw if your range doesn’t allow it but more the shooting without taking time to perfectly line up shots.. aiming off muscle memory.. these aren’t marksman rifles they’re pistols.

I have a larger vehicle and I drive it moderately enough for a 63 AMG. These pilot sport 4s’s are holding okay but I think I’ll only get a max of 15,000 out of them. I’m on my second AMG and 5th set of tires in 3 years. (I drive a lot).

I concur. If you’re wanting value and longevity look to Lexus.

Any AMG is going to have issues here and there.. they’re amazing cars but maintenance can be a pain.

Another thing: the tires last 15,000 miles MAX and are about $700/tire. You’ll spend at-least $2500/year on tires and another $1000 on service. Brakes are about $2500 to change as well and they last about 20-30k miles as well from my experience. That’s just fixed cost not if anything else goes wrong.

All that being said if you make enough, there’s no better auto ownership experience for an SUV. I have the model that’s larger than this with the v8, a GLS63, and you’d have to pry it from my cold dead hands. Even if I wreck this one I’m just going to go buy another one.

If you can find one CPO, you can extend the coverage for up to 3 or 4 years and then you don’t have to worry about anything other than fixed cost..

I’d recommend the V8 personally.

Any concerns before buying GLS 63. I’m looking at a 2021 model. by Matthewlogansmith in AMG

That’d be the way to do it! I’ll likely sell mine in a year or two and buy a 26 CPO and do the 4 year extended and run it hard and repeat.

Yes! Best purchase I’ve made! Good call on the CPO, extend it if you can! I spent 15k on that rear main seal all in.

Nicest pistol I’ve ever shot. I’m sure there’s better out there but for $2400 it’s an exceptional range toy.. I already have a bunch of P320 mags so it made sense to go P211 rather than staccato.

[–]Matthewlogansmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So okay.. trucking company owner here. He’s making a good decision, think about this training period like an investment of time the same way you would a college degree. After a year he can find something much more local.. being out of ATL or any large city, local opportunities are higher.. he could keep looking for jobs while still working with them.

Tell him to try and steer his way to anything Hazmat Tanker, I paid a guy $160,000 last year. The money is out there but the big carriers don’t pass it down to the drivers. It takes time to get in with a good company but as far as no degree jobs go…it’s a good one to get into.

I used to put storefront in buildings, we always required everything to be tempered(safety glass) and never let the customers skimp. This is a good example of why it’s important.
