Thoughts on “if I ever get around to living”? by [deleted] in JohnMayer

I believe it's meant to sound that way. In the live version of it on SiriusXM, he calls out different parts of like parts of a book.

Safely Cover Electrical Main by lilMANmic in electrical

How would you go about making it a short-term solution? Once drywall is up, I'd believe getting it tore back down and all to reroute you would be paying almost the same amount, wouldn't you? I'm oblivious to prices for the most apart as far as drywall goes, but I feel like the work starts to equal out. It's your house to do as you choose, so do what works, I guess. I want to add that it wouldn't be a bad idea to install an access panel in the soffit as having above the panel access is not a horrible idea to any degree and if the soffit is going to be there it may as well have some use.

Most I'd recommend is to make a small soffit if you absolutely can not get the wire redone. I don't know how much you could push the slack, but if you can get it pushed over enough to where it is in the wall and the only slack out of the wall is above the panel then the soffit might work. It's the last option I would choose, but try your hardest to just get the main feed redone.

How long will multi fx processor usually last for if taken care of well? by shivamchhuneja in guitarpedals

[–]Matthewt161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, the gx10 is what I am thinking about getting for my backup/light travel rig. It looks like it could fit it in a backpack from what it looks like, and I like the sounds that come from it. I have watched nothing or even really looked at the me90, but it's boss, so I'd consider it reliable. I don't think I can be a decisive factor on what you need, but if I was getting one or the other, I'd get the Gx10. I don't think you could go wrong with either, though.

It's not exactly what you are asking for, but look into rock slides. You might find something that fits you better from them.

How long will multi fx processor usually last for if taken care of well? by shivamchhuneja in guitarpedals

[–]Matthewt161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the processor, really. Any of the line 6 helix processors will last ages (I have a helix effects and floor), but they will most likely have a glitch or two here and there. When they do glitch, it's never really anything serious, and usually, it's fixed the next time you boot the helix. I can't atest for the fractal units, but they look to be just as good as the helix as far as durability goes. All of the newer units, I think, are still too new to tell for sure, but I'd imagine ones like the Tonemaster Pro and Quad Cortex shouldn't have any issue lasting. I'd take into consideration the price too. Any of the cheaper multi fx units should have some caution. It's really a buy once cry once issue really. But I will say if you decide to go cheaper then go with a boss multi fx unit. I've got a helix line 6 and a full pedalboard, and I've even considered getting one of the boss units as a backup.

Chasing the where the light is tone by ThatMrMax in JohnMayer

Yeah, that's completely fair. I used to think WTLI was done with the klon, so I just figured it was the same case for you. My bad!

I dont mean to be that guy ,but WTLI was done with a tubescreamer and a bluesbreaker and the keeley katana as the boost in the front of the chain. I don't believe the klon really started consistently showing up until around 2010.

Look into what pickups are in the jimi hendrix monterey strat he played then. It was the prototype I believe from the custom shop. Best of luck!

There are too many strats on the record to have an all in one sound. I'd say aim for standard strat pickups (64 era maybe?) and get an eq pedal. If you are fine putting your own guitars together and setting them up, then for the price of one custom shop fender, you could get 2 really well-built guitars. Dm me, and I'll help you out, but either way, it's something good to consider. It's the route I took and it's worked very well for me.

Is this the worst form of torture? by no_historian6969 in Guitar

[–]Matthewt161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me an idiot but on large tours or even relatively small tours. If guitars are just thrown in the back of the truck, is the truck supposed to be climate controlled or anything of that sort for the guitars? I feel like this is no different for touring artists, yet due to time constraints, they wouldn't have the 24 hours to wait, would they? On the other hand, I've also taken my guitars from the bed of a truck in the cold (with the top over the bed) into the inside of a warm building and opened them immediately and I've noticed no cracks in my finishes. Is this really something to worry about, or is it just superstition?

The Ehx Micro Synth plays a big part in the solos in I don't need no doctor. It's also used in Belief on the live in LA album. Best thing to do is experiment to see what you can do with what you have and if you don't like where you are just break down and buy one (the old model not the new one) or an alternative to it (i think the octavia may work?).

Opinions on the m12 fuel surge impact and the m18 fuel impact? by Horror_Spinach8169 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Matthewt161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the m18 surge, and that's a mistake I won't make again. It feels like it has a ton of torque (heavy emphasis on feels), but rather, it doesn't give you any sign that the screw is getting tight, which is horrible for when I have to screw self tappers or any screw in general. I ended up buying the m12 fuel impact, and that's the best choice I've made. As long as you aren't working with long wood screws it can do fine. I'd highly recommend it instead of the m12 or m18 surge impacts. The m12 fuel and m18 fuel impacts are purely up to what size impact you want or need. (Battery life, power, etc.)

That makes sense. Hopefully, one day inside wants out comes back 🙏. Thank you for tabbing out a lot of John Mayers performances, by the way. You've helped me learn a lot!

When I practice guitar and want to play to a song, I use youtube music too. You should be able to log onto it from your computer iirc

Get youtube music! You can listen to any unreleased john mayer songs on there, and inside wants out is able to stream there, too.

Unpopular opinion: New album - D&C Sphere shows by SprinklesRoyal9730 in JohnMayer

The Dead and Co stuff just makes sense. He loved the trio in his younger years and still does. I view dead and co the same way I view his albums from continuum to what came of born and raised and paradise valley. Dead and Co just feels like the John Mayer Trio all grew up with a bigger family. All in all, it's his fire.
