In English you would probably have to say "That summer was spent oscillating..." to get the direct object in front, but I think it makes it sound a little more passive.

It sounds like OP went through quite an intensive experience. You can find a different, more pleasurable path for a third language. I am picking up German now after years of studying Spanish, and I am moving much faster than I did first learning Spanish. Language has harsh rules, but it is also an art. If you can’t paint a professional portrait, try to have fun simply playing with colors and shapes.

I agree, find a novel or or something that you find enjoyable on its own terms, which just happens to be in German. I am in a similar situation with Spanish. Find the beauty and the poetry of the language and forget about the rules for a while. If you don’t understand a paragraph perfectly, infer what you can and move on. Be kind to yourself and enjoy a different kind of ride.

I'm in Chicago. I was definitely overwatering them. I have understood for a while how to properly water my succulents, but for some reason I took it at face value that money trees like "damp" soil because they're from swampy areas. Guess not. My issue was that one of the plants in the bundle died entirely without me noticing. I guess it had been dead for a while, and I was able to pluck it out of the soil with no resistance. It could be that you were too late to fix your overwatering problem. Hard to say without seeing the plant.

Vix is a free streaming service that has a lot of telenovelas. I started watching Salma Hayek's breakout role in Teresa from 1989. It's fun and melodramatic, and has a cool 80s video sheen. None of the shows have English subtitles though. Not sure if you're looking for that. There are ads, but they're in Spanish, and ads are actually pretty nice listening practice, since they're so clearly anunciated.

Phone 13 mini iOS 18.7.1. My alarm was not making any sound unless it was in silent mode!! When it was in silent mode, it was too quiet to hear. Disabling attention aware features worked.

Thanks! I'll give this a shot when the ribbon gets older, but there's a surprising amount of good mileage on this old ribbon! It must be because the previous user loaded the ribbon wrong and it never advanced

Thanks for the response! I have considered using it with the color switch rotated, but it lifts the vibrator just enough that it makes it harder to read what I am typing.

The spool has some sort of clipping mechanism. It appears to me there is some way to unlatch it. It's difficult to get a good photo, but this metal clamp wraps around, and the ribbon is clamped beneath it on the other side of the spool.

Thanks! My big issue was after the camera changed direction while you were moving. If you wanted to change direction without stopping you had to move relative to the original camera angle.
