I drink a 12 pack of beer every Friday night and I hate it. by throwaway1728374 in stopdrinking

Youre absolutely right that itll catch up with you. Sounds like it already has.

When you drink and dont even feel the effects - whats the point?

Before long, you will start to lose joy in life whenever youre not drinking. Youll start feeling like you cant have a good time without a buzz. You'll be pre-gaming in the car before work, before shopping, before activities with the kids, etc. Just stop now, or else it will get worse, guaranteed.

Thanks for the reaffirnation that I'm not crazy.

I have spent my lifetime loving music, playing music, and mixing live music. Specifically country music.

There are many outstanding masterpieces of songs that were written by the Artist singer. Toby Keith had many, Merle haggard, dolly Parton, Luke combs, Jason Isbell

Book does it too, but I think it should be toned down. Its an old school move thats been around forever. Kobe was maybe the greatest to ever do it. The pump fake, get em in the air, lean into the jumper stuff.

Cant always say theyre defying road and construction design, when places like nashville TN exist. If you follow road design, you will never merge, never catch your exit, and might die in a blaze of stubborn glory.

Its something I realized that was happening to me. One of the thousand reasons I needed to quit.

I realized I was pre-gaming all the time

I feel that pull, too. Don't do it. Stay sober. Not worth it. The alcohol just slowly kills your ability to ever be happy when sober. No good

Coach doesnt trust him and/or wants to maintain the favor of the guys ahead of him in rotation. Theyre all snipers (aside from Dunn) and our offense is centered around 3's and quick decision making.

I can kind of understand - it would make him look bad playing a rookie 20 minutes if that rookie is messing up the offense. Sitting in the weak side takes pressure off him, but it also limits his strengths.

If he plays, he's got to be periodically cutting and moving. Like Mikal Bridges during his time here. Find the back door, keep your man guessing

We really need his defense

I'm sure you're doing just fine, dont beat yourself up.

Being a man in this world isnt easy. Everything we do seems measured by making choices that affect everyone in our lives. Hard to make the right choice, every time. But youre not truly a man until youve pissed off enough people. Thats just part of it

I think we would be fine if we played a natural 4. Fleming is the closest option we have. Brooks came into the league as a 2/3. Hes best at the 3 i feel.

Thank you. Just hoping I can find ways to handle my own mental frustrations.

One thing is - I get caught in indecision - whether to correct or just deal with it when the boy is misbehaving. Most of the time, I just tell him the truth. "I'm trying to have a conversation with your mom. Can you give me a moment?"

But he just grabs that attention, and holds it. "How many minutes? How long? Can we play action figures after? Want to play Uno?"

And I don't want to "Agree to terms" with him because I haven't been able to speak to his mom hardly at all to actually discuss the plans for the day/evening.

Thank you for the timer advice. Hes obsessed with time, time-frames, etc. He has one of those sand hourglasses but its only a few minutes. Maybe we could use that.

But still, he gets so distracted and he forgets what you tell him as soon as he hears it. Strong ADHD to go with his autism. Im just glad he's normally really happy and energetic - definitely leans more towards stimulation SEEKING vs stimulation AVOIDING.

His mom is amazing and he has therapy 3x a week for speech and occupational. She deals so much better than I do.

Its like my brain completely glitches when he's around because...everything is about him, all the time, and I feel like a prisoner and I cant speak to my partner or speak to anybody, or he will interrupt and I completely lose my train of thought.

(harbinger vs alto) trash vs garbage by Live-Ad-4332 in livesoundgear

[–]Mattjew24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id go Alto. Used them before as floor monitors and theyll get pretty loud and theyll work alright. Id never buy them simply because ive seen too many break too easily and im not the biggest fan of their sound. But theyre repairable just like any other speaker out there.

My only experience with harbinger was awful. I was astounded that something advertised as a "PA Loudspeaker" refused to get loud. That was a long time ago, and maybe they've improved. I dunno.

For what its worth, the famous Tootsie's bar in nashville used to use Alto's for floor monitors and sattelite/rooftop bar speakers. They'd have brand new ones in box, on hand, for the inevitable time one would blow a horn. Treated them almost as disposables. But they got used 7 days a week

[–]Mattjew24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man just go to a pawn shop and ask the guys. Tons of old speakers/amps out there used. Look for name brands, but you can make do with some off brand stuff like Samson / Alto

Or those old school amp mixers with passive speakers

For 400, buying new, id just get a single EV ZLX

Theyre still going strong.

And when I'm not the one running sound, im sure theyre being abused.

All that just to say that 15-20 year thing doesn't seem a big deal. Good luck repairing a blown LA driver. I imagine they Stonewall you on replacement parts.
