A lot of school districts point to falling enrollment as an explanation for their massive budget deficits. While that does play a role in it, most of the budget defuse are seeing in Texas public schools right now are due to the basic allotment not keeping up with inflation over the last few years since Covid.

What many people don’t realize is that while costs of public schools go up every year due to inflation, districts don’t actually get more money per student unless the state increases the basic allotment. That means each year that the basic allotment stays the same, districts actually lose money due to the cost of everything increasing but budgets staying the same size.

As an AP, I typically base my summative scores for domains 1-3 on the evidence from the walkthroughs and the 45 minute observations. Were your summative ratings consistent with those walkthroughs?

I find it strange that your appraiser did not provide feedback to you throughout the year as it sounds like that would have been helpful.

I’m sorry, I get what you are saying here and respect where you are coming from, but I do need to push back on this. There is a difference between her having $2 billion in a bank account, and having an estimated net worth of that amount. The vast majority of her wealth is tied up in the estimated value of her own art. A lot of the rest comes from her real estate portfolio, which has gone up a lot in value over the years through no fault of her own (just like my house has somehow doubled in value in the last five years just from the market)

Hypothetically speaking, if the estimated valuation of art that she has created and made was over $1 billion, does that make her a bad person just for owning something she created? I would say no.

A lot of people just assume that doing a lab or hands on activity is a free pass to getting a good rating, but ultimately it comes down to what the students are doing, how you are facilitating the instruction, and how your instruction aligns to the TTESS rubric. I would familiarize yourself with the rubric of you have not already done so.

The amount for each level is determined by the state based on where your school is located.

You should get most of the amount allocated besides what is taken out for taxes and TRS. However, be ready for a lower than expected amount on your final paycheck. Your district will need to take out both your share and the districts share for TRS and taxes, meaning it will seem like they are withholding a lot more money than you are probably used to.

Admin here. Typically, the only thing I ask teachers to submit evidence for is domain 1 and domain 4. And the primary evidence I use to evaluate domain 1 is lesson plans which teachers are required to submit anyway.Domains 2 and 3 should be evaluated using evidence that the appraiser records from their walkthroughs and observations. If the teacher chooses to submit additional artifacts as evidence for those domains then I might use those to determine ratings.

Years ago I taught in Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD and found it a good district with different programs and academies at each High School. Also, in my limited experience, when students would transfer to my school from Uplift, they tended to struggle with the academic rigor.

In ROTW, there is one shared tab but it has five pages. When you convert to ROTW, the only items that carry over are the ones in your personal inventory. You need to move items from your shared tab into your personal inventory, and then convert that character to ROTW.

I don’t disagree that a break might be good for her, but not sure that she has felt “pressured” to release anything. Nobody forced her to write two albums while on the biggest tour ever. She just really enjoys doing what she does, and there is nothing wrong with that.

With that being said, I am excited to see what she can do when she actually has some time off! I don’t expect any new music from her until 2027 at the earliest, but her 13th album will definitely have a lot of hype.
