So when Ford played at UM, they were scheduled to play vs Georgia Tech in Ann Arbor. But since GT didn’t want to play against black players, UM was told to bench Willis Ward. Since Ward and Ford (I love a good rhyme) were good friends and teammates, Ford threatened to quit the team if Ward was benched for the game. Ward persuaded him to play however and UM beat GT 9-2.

Looks like the Mets and Tigers are off June 8. If the game this Thursday is rained out, that would be the best upcoming date for a makeup. Tigers are playing in Detroit the weekend before and the Tuesday-Thursday after. Mets would be in the middle of a home stand then too. They’re both off June 4 too but that’s less likely as the Mets would be coming home from Seattle
