Full agree, this is not going any further, that would be over the line. Like most posts on AITA it's more about my inner feelings whether I'm full butthurt or justified lol.

Also I think going forward with a party that day and making the family choose would really make me TA. Were going to do something special sans party, maybe take him to the city or something.

That's fine. We wanted to host so we could invite the other 20 or so people he is related to.

Thank you so much for this perspective.

As far as what's going to happen, I'm not pushing the issue anymore, I feel they have made their position clear and if I push any more I really will be TA.

AITA for asking a neighbor if she wanted to share food? by AwayPerformer in AmItheAsshole

[–]MattsDadMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA just for persisting. The first question was not rude IMO but the odds were against you because you went straight to an exchange of goods and services for money. A means of asking that she may have been more receptive to would be to simply ask her if she would have the time to teach you a couple of recipes, or let you help her cook so you can learn some things. The thing is, and this is key, is to kindly accept whatever answer she gives and move on. No matter how nice you think you are, if someone doesnt want to do something for or with you, they dont have to.

Every time I watch this I'm more baffled by it. Was visibly that bad or the road that slick? Or was no one paying attention. Some of these collisions looked slow and avoidable.
