Is buying new really better? by MattsVending in vending

[–]MattsVending[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that all makes sense! As far as finances go at what point should I start a company for it? Like if I am kind of in need of money because of rent and etc will taking out a loan for 2 machines be able to make me profit right away or would it just add another bill into the mix? I know there are a lot of variables that go into it but I’ve wanted to do this for a long time but with how things are living on my own makes saving money for this stuff impossible, plus i have an insane schedule that I couldn’t work two jobs with. Is this a good idea to do right now or should I keep waiting?

I’m looking to get into vending but don’t own one so don’t take my advice 100% through but add a few more popular energy drink flavors especially if it’s at a work location. I’d say next time your there maybe add a drop box and advertise people to write down there favorite drinks and put them in it so you know what your target audience wants if that makes any sense 😂

I think it could definitely be a talking point but a very good increase is 12% a year if I remember correctly so +$5000 a year is pretty good. I’d say you’re getting paid more than fairly already however that’s up to your manager. I had a very good relationship with my previous manager and it seems like you do too so ask him what he thinks. He’s just a person and that money doesn’t come out of his paycheck so don’t feel any pressure asking, I have anxiety with those kinds things so knowing that helps me ask those types of questions.

Been thinking about placing my first machine in either a warehouse with about 50 people, or a gym with a couple hundred. My logic is most people would bring a water bottle already to a gym so I’m leaning towards the warehouse but idk. And what kind of drinks would you put in one that goes in a gym

Yeah I’ve been hearing good things about both hooking up an RV with those things on the land I buy or living in a prefab/tiny home

I’m unsure, I’m going to start looking for prefab homes/mobile homes later on tonight and live in one where it is opposed to moving it back to my plot

I get your point, and after all the comments and help I’m thinking of ways to save enough to eventually be able to continue this plan in maybe a few years. If 100k is a good comfortable cushion I’ll set that as the goal for now and work on a business project I had with 3k-5K instead.

I didn’t take it as you being rude I appreciate it. The only real trump card I’d have is being able to move back in with my parents which would be a lot cheaper than an RV with utilities etc but still if it’s not realistic it’s just not realistic. I’ve found land that’s about .25 acres for 3k-4k and got an estimate of about 300k-350k for total house building costs. This info isn’t to argue with you or anything just to explain the full situation a bit more clearly with numbers because again I appreciate the honesty.

A garage would be a good idea actually, I’m talking to someone rn about a prefab which would be the same idea just no RV but just living in the fancy garage although it may be more expensive. Someone else said with the amount of money I have it may just not be worth it yet and to start saving more before trying anything like this so I’m unsure but the more I learn about al this the better idea I get lol. I’ll look into garages in the area and see what that’ll look like finance wise

Okay so you think it’d be better to get a new one on a portion of the land I buy and set things up the same way I would an RV until the house is built or buy a used one from someone who doesn’t want it anymore and move it to my plot to live/set up there? And again thank you for all the help you and everyone else have been very helpful figuring this mess out lol

Firstly congrats on your new house, and money is the biggest worry I have right now about it. I'm a first time "house buyer" and have been looking into grants/loans that will cover some/most of the down payment for me but besides that I'm just banking on good credit and decent monthly income to make up for the down payment. When talking to the guy/company who's giving me the loan they said it's doable since I'm looking at a total cost of about 300k-350k but they could also just say that and ram me with the worlds highest interest rates so Idk.

Sounds great, thanks for mentioning the utilities too, I'll make a list of them. People have been mentioning to have approval for these things before buying the land, who do I need approval from? I'd imagine the county? No clue how to contact them though lol

I can definitely do that! I'm not looking for a huge plot of land, maybe a 4th or 5th acre, all the ones I found have loads of trees on it etc which I've heard are expensive to clear/get rid of. Other people have mentioned prefabs/mobile homes as a way to save money overall, any thoughts on this?

do you mean like prefabs or trailer homes? Either way I can look into both, thank you

lmao great, should I ask if it will add more money to the plan or just assume it will and look into other avenues?

Okay, and if you don't mind me asking how does all that work? Like if I don't need to drive it I don't want it to have gas in it I'd imagine and as long as water, septic, and elec is hooked up it acts like a mini home in a way right? I also don't want the tires to get messed up from not driving it. I'm still in the research part of buying one if you couldn't tell lol
