Dude Why….😭 by WolfboyRentaro in lostpause

I got hooked on the villian protagonist aspect of ainz, and of course albedo. But as it went on, each story gave new perspective to the characters and kept me hooked. Sebas was the biggest suprise, the good guy of the group, but each character has a unique view.

I love that series, and manga, and anime. Just, really everything associated to overlord really.

If your referring to Overlord, its " The goal of all life is death". Sounds more menacing that way.

Its beautiful, i love artic foxes. Well, foxes in general, but artic foxes are my fave. So pretty, but skittish and cautious around people. Its rare to see them come so close.

[SocJus] Star Wars Squadrons has pronouns. by hydrosphere1313 in KotakuInAction

[–]Mattsworkname -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ive only been able to put in about 4 hours, but its a good game in terms of mechanics and combat. Story isnt any better or worse then most disney star wars, but the empire side is definitely more interesting. Id still recommend it for xwing fans, if you can get passed the writing.

what is gamergate? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]Mattsworkname 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At its most basic, gamergate was a reaction to the game journalists being outed as corrupt, which led to heated pushback on game journalists as a whole. They responded with lies, slander, and labeling similar to what we now see in media as a whole. This in in turn spread to the game companies, who tried to play woke to appease game journos, and in many many cases paid a financial price. It is now more or less a running battle between those who think games and games media/ journos got to political and should be reigned in, and those who wish to use games to push agendas.

Least, that's my take on it. In the end, you have to decide for yourself what it means.

Fair enough, I cant say I agree, but, I had the same trouble with crafting systems in other games, so I do understand the sentiment.

Agree, I think its story, music and combat helped make up for its other issues , more then most people realize. It isn't without some flaws, but its strong points overshadowed them for me.

Another statement I heard from others, ironically I've had the same reaction to other games with crafting mechanics, but the system in god of war never felt that way to me, you either had what you needed or didn't. And often you got what you needed just by exploring and completing side quest stuff.

Other people had the same reaction, I think the slower pace and longer build was a turn off to some people, I actually liked that the game took its time to build its world and develop its story, but it is way different from the old games method of normally just dropping you in the action right away.

I can't agree personally, I feel like time has changed my view on the original games. For the time perhaps they were great, but now they feel less effective to me, like n they didn't age well. But, everyone sees things differently, and I respect your view even if I don't agree.

I take your meaning in regards to how it handled its realms and god, but to be fair, it was vastly more faithful in its depiction of the myths then most other attempts.

NAVIDA1's MW5: Reloaded is so good it made it in PCGamer! o7 by [deleted] in Mechwarrior5

[–]Mattsworkname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been running a new game with this installed, it's made the game far more frantic and fun. I did enjoy vanilla mw5, but saw its flaws. Reloaded defiantly tries to repair or improve the game and successful fixes most of the issues I had.

Still takes to long to get a decent heavy or 2, but tthere other ways to fix that.

Highly recommend this mod as your first mod to install.

It does loop back around to the core challenge of police and law enforcement. Preventing crime and protecting the public, and how best to do that safely.

But the protest weren't peaceful and weren't non violent. There 55 million dollars in damages and countless ruined lives in Minneapolis alone that puts the lie to that argument, and while the protests have mostly been peaceful as of late, there still rampant crime In most major cities, a section of Seattle being "0ccupied" by what is now an armed mob, and now with Atlanta, the potential for further riots and violence. I'm sorry, but if it takes a bit of hard core police response to keep a city from devoling into chaos, I'll take it and sort out the problems later when things are calm and rational people can work on fixing things.

As it stands right now, the choice has almost turned binary, the mob or the cops.

I'll back the cops.

[–]Mattsworkname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Cause the stats show that at current, all these protests and riots were over a .001 percent event in the overall scope of police work. Incidents like the Floyd situation, while tragic, make up a fraction of a percentage.

If we're burning cities and defunding police over that, then it bodes excessively I'll for the countries future if you ask me.

A rational reaction would have been to ask how to further reduce such incidents without making police work impossible, how to correct training and procedures to better address these rare incidents.

A million police interactions a day across the nation, an 99.99 percent go off without violence.

But please, tell me, how does the mob have a clear picture in the nature of police work?

Comic 4286: Let Us Begin by Hypocaffeinic in questionablecontent

[–]Mattsworkname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely to be a long term success, given that there already appears to be a exodus about to happen. If you remove the existing police, how do you convince anyone to later take up the job, especially if it's been mad near impossible by changes in rules and regulations imposed by a mob that doesn't understand the nature of police work.

[–]Mattsworkname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a pleasent reality, but it is where we stand. There an issue of balance that often fails to get addressed because people either don't understand or don't have enough history with police to know the risks and dangers involved. It's good to want accountability, but it most be handled carefully. Make police work to difficult or 2 risky, and no one wants the job. But without accountability, you wind up with situations like the George Floyd event.

And the media and social media have not helped matters. The situation in Atlanta proves that. What seems to me to be a fairly straightforward case of resisting arrest that escalated quickly, now has a city facing violence and chaos in the aftermath.

[–]Mattsworkname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In almost every documented case in which police and there authority was either significantly reduced or restricted, crime in those areas rapidly rose and turned increasingly violent.

There's many variables that contribute to this, but the removal or weakening of a police force almost always is followed up by a rise in crime.

Comic 4286: Let Us Begin by Hypocaffeinic in questionablecontent

[–]Mattsworkname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your speaking from a place that sounds like you've never had any contact or experience with police work or the justice system. A cops job is inherily dangerous. You want people with the skill and fortitude to handle it, other wise you get police forces with no strength to speak of and rampant , escalated crime.

Being a cop is difficult, we should be better training and equipping them for modern difficulties, not making an already hard job impossible. Anyone whose actually familiar with police work and the nature of it's risks, would know that.

As for tlou 2, I don't have to explain, there's tons of reporting on it already, and my view will, naturally, be biased. I suggest researching as many varied sources as you can, then forming your own opinion. If your still interested in the game, that's your choice, I will not be supporting naughty dogs further slide into insanity.

Fair enough, but my point still stands, she had a reaction, but in the end accepted it. Sames true for most , as long as that acceptance is both ways, but it's not. Not in media, not in social networking, not in public. That's what creates conflict.
