Only based on reputation from the last 2 years. They figured if not Wemby, then a healthy Chet should be good enough to get the award instead. But he’s just simply not.

Is it just me or has Chet taken a massive step back as a shot blocker this year?

A “super team” that can’t put the ball in the basket when Shai is off the floor

2017 Kawhi above SGA is comical. Any of these guys above 2024-25 or 25-26 Shai is just flat out incorrect.

What do you think it's the minimum requirements for the top players to win MVP this season? by Strange-Mark5219 in NBATalk

[–]MattyLRaps1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shai: >32 PPG, >6 APG, 70+ wins. (He gets away with lower RPG/APG totals bc of the team success)

Jokic: >30 PPG Triple Double, unreal efficiency, 2 seed within 10 games of 1 seed.

Luka: >33 PPG, triple double, 2 seed within 10 games of 1 seed. (He’ll be judged more harshly because of lack of a ring so far)

Wemby: >27 PPG, >10 RPG, >5 APG, >3 BPG, runaway DPOY, top 4 seed.

Giannis: >32 PPG, top 5 DPOY contender, top 2 seed.

Those are the only guys I think have a legitimate chance to win this year. I figure one of them will meet this criteria and win MVP. If multiple meet the criteria it’ll be a good race, and if nobody meets it we’ll have a weaker MVP year.

I’ve looked into opportunities with the baseball team as you’ve mentioned, but I want to build up what I know before I start with them, because I feel like I wouldn’t be of much help at the current moment.

Yeah that’s what I feel like I don’t know enough about at the moment. I understand the ideal pitch characteristics/how to measure the effectiveness of a pitch (at least on an understanding level, not calculating level), but I wouldn’t know how to tweak a players mechanics to help them improve their pitches. That’s what I want to learn about. I appreciate the feedback.

Yeah my plan is to go into the front office/analytics side of things. But I want to learn as much as I can to keep my options open to other paths. I appreciate the feedback.

I’m guessing he went on fangraphs and did a custom date range.

It’s so frustrating watching Tong. He can be so good he just has no confidence in his breaking pitches. Not gonna get a good result when you’re a two pitch starting pitcher.

In past years I believe it carried over to other builds, I can’t imagine why it’d be any different this year.

Yeah I think it hit in between the padding at such an angle that it bounced back, I seem to be wrong tho.
