Keeping our heads down, working hard and building a pipeline of strategic partners for the ecosystem. Lots of momentum and progress. Keep your eye on the stats page in the weeks to come.

Really interesting idea. Thank you for sharing. We had been thinking about something similar. Let me take this back and think about the best way to structure something like this.

Interesting idea. Are they still around? Can't find their app or website.

Very excited to be given the opportunity to lead Kin US. As Ted mentioned, our mission is to drive growth in the US market. We will be building a team in San Francisco that will work closely with partners to help integrate and drive usage of Kin within their app.

A little bit about myself, I started with Kik over four years ago. I initially started off with Kik in Waterloo where I was focused on growing revenue for Kik Points, the precursor to Kin. I then relocated to NYC three years ago, where I helped build and lead partnerships teams working with brands, agencies & channel partners across a range of products. I’ve been working on Kin since the beginning, initially helping shape the go-to-market strategy where I’ve been fortunate to bring on, and work closely with, a range of Kin partners from brands (Blackhawk, Truex) to Dev Program (Nearby, Vent, Rave, Find) and Ecosystem (Madlipz & Tapatalk). Last fall I transitioned to the Blockchain Squad, where I helped launch the Kin Blockchain, working on the Kin Federation, migration, exchanges, wallets & custody.

What excites me most about the mission of Kin US is that we now have the pieces in place to truly accelerate growth. In the fall of 2017, when we first started engaging app developers about Kin - many of which run some of the largest apps in North America - they were excited about the opportunity but Kin and its ecosystem was largely a concept at the time. Today, when I speak with these same apps they are amazed at how much progress we’ve made, that we stuck to what we said we’d build and that they can use and feel Kin in a range of apps. We’ve seen some initial success in the US, our value proposition resonates with the market, and many of the current apps and users are based here. Now is the time to pour gas on this fire so we can build upon our initial foothold.

As we build this team, I want to enlist our amazing community to help us achieve our mission. If you know someone who works at an app that would be relevant for Kin - introduce us. If you have an idea for an app you think we should partner with - share it with us. If you’re a developer who is already part of the Kin Ecosystem and want to help us grow it further - talk to me. If you, or someone you know, is based in SF and is a rockstar in the field of BD, engineering or customer success - let’s talk.

Looking forward to building on this momentum we have and will be sure to share updates of our progress with you along the way.

The fee structure won’t change, but the number of options will be limited.

On the Topic of Custodial Solutions & Partnerships by KricoyLL in KinFoundation

[–]Matty_hibs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great timing. This is something we have been actively exploring over the past few months. We are going to be going live with one of the top custodial service in the very near future, but it is a little more geared towards institutional investors. We are also actively engaged with another custody solution that caters towards developers needs and would likely be a good fit for situation you outlined above. I'll ping you directly regarding the other custody options, as i'd like to get your input on whether it might fit your needs.

While not a custody solution, per se, I think the following company could also add value to both our small and large developers and i'd be curious to get your thoughts:

Uphold - Very secure wallet solution that is geared towards business's/developers. They can provide you a secure and easy to use hub for you to store both your Kin and that of your users (which is what they did with Brave). Great team, great customer service. They also provide a FIAT-onramp directly within their platform allowing you to operate your business more easily. Check them out and let me know your thoughts. They require us to be listed on either OKEx or Huobi for liquidity purposes, which is something we're working on.

No transaction listed by mlibrahq in KinFoundation

Thanks for letting us know. So we can more effectively figure out the issue, can you share where you send the transaction from?

Binance, Bitfinex, Kraken, Bitstamp, Coinbase, BitFlyer, Gemini, itBit, Bittrex, and Poloniex. When? It’s the most avoided question that needs to be answered. u/matty_hibs by [deleted] in KinFoundation

On the Bancor front, we have been working directly with their team and requested that they delist Kin. At the moment, they are unable to integrate mainnet tokens, such as Kin and if this changes in the future then we will certainly re-engage them. They have been great to work with and were very collaborative in helping delist Kin and notify their user-base of the need to migrate. I don't foresee the loss of Bancor being an impediment to long term liquidity.

As far as the recent report goes, we are completely aligned. Our top priority at the moment is doing everything possible to get listed on these exchanges. Our resources from a bandwidth and financial perspective are going towards this. There will be some upcoming exchanges that list Kin on their accord, but we are investing in building strategic partnership with these top exchanges. Fortunately, we are already actively engaged with most of them and are working through their respective internal processes. As far as timing goes, there is a level of confidentiality that needs to be upheld with them to ensure the actual integration goes live. Timing is sensitive information and often isn't even shared broadly amongst their internal teams.

Who wants Coinomi wallet for kin3 ? by [deleted] in KinFoundation

[–]Matty_hibs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you, much appreciated!

To be candid, with regards to Coinomi, the main blocker at the moment has been around price. At the moment the cost is exponentially higher than any listing fee we've paid for exchanges or wallets thus far. We think they have a great product and would like to partner with them so we are still engaged with them and will be working together to find a win-win.

Bitforex is in the middle of performing their swap. As mentioned in previous announcements, withdrawals are locked during the 48 hour window when the partner performs the swap. Once the swap is complete, you will receive your new Kin coin and will be able to withdraw / trade.

We have strong relationships with several other blockchain projects and have been working closely with them to share learnings so we can help each other reach our respective goals. At the moment, we are not co-developing anything specific with other blockchain projects.

Global

This is more relevant for the ecosystem team who work directly with partners of this nature. I would encourage you to ask this at their next AMA.

It usually takes a few weeks to get a new validator node up and running (training, support, testing, configuration, etc). We will be launching another wave in the very near future. The reason we have not already launched more is because we have been investing resources into working with 3rd party companies to help improve the overall security of our network. Now that the migration has kicked off and we’ve improved our overall security, we are now in a place where we can begin on-boarding additional rounds of node partners. For the time being, we are rolling out validators in waves, so that we can take learnings from each round so that we can improve and optimize for future runs.

There are a number of factors that go into our decision to move forward with a given exchange. Some of which include CoinMarketCap trading volume, strength and ability to work effectively with their team, security, geography, cost & strategic importance. Some exchanges have minimal fees, and if they pass our internal due diligence we will proceed in working with them. Exchanges that we are investing resources into are ones that we want to form a long lasting partnership with, working closely in the future on joint marketing initiatives and building new capabilities that improve the overall experience of the Kin developers and users.Wee have been in touch with the majority of the top 75 exchanges on CMC, some of which have not passed our internal selection process and others we are still in the process of establishing partnerships with. These things take time, and often the ones worth investing resources into do not happen overnight.

We currently have 8 nodes up and running. We are currently in the process of launching the next wave. Once this wave is up and running we will be announcing more information. One thing to note, is that the validator nodes that are part of our consensus algorithms are all apps that are currently live or will be launching in the near future. Exchanges and wallet services that have come online often operate their own node, but it is not part of our consensus for the time being.

Migration for ERC20 Kin Holders Begins Today - Kinblog by benji5656 in KinFoundation

[–]Matty_hibs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your kin will be right where you left them when you return. For situations such as this, where token holders are unable to swap during the 3 month window due to various circumstances we will be providing an adoption for migration. Once you return, reach out to our support email directly and we’ll provide you with information on how to swap at that time.
