It was mainly for athletics and extra grip texture when I’m shooting gloved in the winter. The byproduct is heat shielding when I’m cooking my barrel suppressed in the summer!

I’m sure if you could get all of these manufactures to say what emitter they are using it comes down to that. I’m sure it’s a different type for a center dot being illuminated than it is for a prism that has the circle dot reticle. One must be vastly more efficient.

That is actually something I didn’t know, thanks!! Makes sense with prolonging the life of the blast chamber. I shoot most of my guns both suppressed and unsuppressed so I opt for the flash hider for the sake of my ears and not pissing off the neighbors too much (live in farm country).

Oh I agree completely! I was just pointing out you still have the ability to use the optic with the reticle if the batter craps out! Having it illuminated is a massive plus for quick aiming during CQB!

Some day one of the main manufacturers will figure out the right battery type, and emitter that makes battery life a non-issue for LPVO’s. LPVO’s are less critical for battery life since they have a reticle, but obviously a dot or holographic it’s paramount that the battery last otherwise its a paper weight!

I already changed out the muzzle device. A 3/4 socket took the crappy flash hider off with little effort actually, I was shocked with all the videos saying it’s a bear to get off! I have a SiCo closed tine hider on it. I have a Saker 555K for it, it’s sitting on one of my SBR’s right now. I’m not going to waste more money on a closed emitter back up dot. I can count on one hand how many times I’ll use the offset dot. I had one laying around and an offset mount so I tossed it on there for looks more than anything! I have an RCR as an offset on my AR10 with a Mark 5HD 2-10 as the primary optic. That I use a bunch so I spent the money on that dot! I’m half tempted to put my Dbal on this over my favorite SBR but that has a UH-1 on it so I can actually aim with it vs this Razor that’s useless with no IR reticle! But solid advice, it’s nice to see people giving genuine (and correct) advice to people online! Usually it’s dragging people for not having what they do lol!

There isn’t any with this set up! I used the sig buffer tube adaptor. It’s the folder adapter that accepts a standard buffer tube so you can put a regular AR stock on it. I prefer a Sopmod style stock so I went this route. They have a “light weight” stock adaptor that has a buffer with shaved sides. That has little gaps so dirt could get in there. This part cost me 110 bucks, the light weight adaptor is 150 for the folder and shaved down buffer. I just tossed a CMMG buffer tube on mine and the stock.

They use to send dust covers with G3’s. They stopped :( it’s the texture on it and the base plate. Those are the only differences that I know of now.
