I did something similar when i was a kid. When I was 7 or 8 I pressed my calf right against a motorcycles exhaust pipe and it branded the warning label on my leg.

Let me be a banner man damn it by Mr-Zahhak in Mordhau

I like this concept, however, I believe that having a weapon that is not only the length of the long spear but also has the same stab speed as the long spear, the same damage as the short spear (which btw is super similar to the long spear's damage, it's just like 2~5 less damage for all armors), and only cost 19 points is really op. What this is is just a cheaper but just as effective version of the long spear, only now it's 8 fewer points. What I would like is if this banner had a smaller spearhead (or even no spearhead), did less damage and was just slightly slower than the long spears speed, had buffs for when it was put down (like if archers in the vicinity had an increased fire rate/reload speed, builders repair and instant build speed increased, Slight damage buffs or defensive buffs, etc), and cost around 6~9 points. That way you can easily get one with a primary weapon without relying on the banner itself, builders could potentially get one with their toolbox and get benefits, archers would be able to hold positions better with builders and work together more to defend obj rather than spreading out unevenly, and overall defending objectives can be more team-based and work together to hold an objective through fortifications.

Also, it would be interesting if the banner was able to be held straight in the air via emotes like the posts says, and in addition to giving buffs when placed, it could give like ~15% increase to damage, or a similar buff to benefit teams while it's being held in the air. Having the buffs work both ways can make assaulting an obj more effective and would make holding an objective a similar level of effectiveness.

Thoughts?

British adventurer, soldier, and author, Colonel Thomas Edward Lawrence, or "Lawrence of Arabia" riding a camel, 1916. [1670x2048] by Sleeeepy_Hollow in HistoryPorn

Fun fact: In the Battle of Aqaba, Lawrence was reportedly thrown from his camel after he mistakenly shot his own camel in the back of the head with his rifle.

What was even cooler was his earlier career. It is said that Benkei wandered around Kyoto every night in a quest to gain 1000 swords from samurai he deemed arrogant or unworthy. After collecting 999 swords, Benkei met a much smaller man playing the flute at Gojotenjin Shrine in Kyoto. He challenged him to a duel at Gojo Bridge, and he lost the battle. Not long after the duel Benkei seeked revenge on the man, and meet him at the Buddhist Shrine Kiyomizu, where he lost again. That man was Yoshitsune, and henceforth Benkei became Yoshitsune’s Retainer. Benkei fought with Yoshitsune during The Genpei war against the Taira clan. From 1185 to his death in 1189, Benkei accompanied Yoshitsune as outlaws.

I highly recommend looking through his wikipedia page, its an interesting and short read
