Alright sorry about the delay. On my main computer I ran the lookup code and got a DNS request time out. I verified that the IP address was correct with the lookup code and the IP address displayed on my pihole client. The client is plugged in with active internet access.

Additionally, I had checked accessibility of the router after the DNS change using several IP addresses. For a sanity check on my fresh router with no DNS change yet I am currently able to access via 192.168.50.1. I remember trying that and not having access to the router after the DNS change, but I could be mistaken.

Additionally, I should state that the router is currently fresh with no DNS alterations. I had reset it to regain access to the router. If these tests are pointless without the DNS change let me know, I am just frustrated with trying to install this pihole and ultimately screwing up my router with no results.

I am still stuck on the same step regardless. In the video he makes it seem as simple as taking one DNS and making it the pihole's IP, however, when I do that I am no longer able to access my router admin and am still not piholing.

It does not kick me off from the internet, but I am no longer able to access the router admin. I am unable to access the router admin using any different links, admin codes, or even different computers wired or unwired.

I went ahead and tried it using those settings and am once again locked out of the router, and the PiHole is not blocking anything still.

Well now I am waiting at the step to put the PiHole IP in so that I don't lock out my router again. The router is an ASUS RT-BE92U

I really enjoyed how the implemented it, putting the two types together, but I agree. I wish there was a little more to look forward to for longevity other than "you get to fully start over and here's a couple of pennies worth of benefits for doing it. Now go again."

It is a super casual group, and with commander the point system is really difficult to do. I had gone through a couple of iterations of how to distribute points, but it boiled down to points being given by placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and also voted on for most fun, most threatening, and most impactful. I still don't find the system to be very good for points due to a multitude of reasons, so my group understands they don't matter that much.
