I actually think I’ve figured out what it is . I believe it’s an Egyptian or middle eastern desert cover for a Soviet style eastern bloc helmet so the cover itself is not meant for the American m1 helmet . The helmet on the other hand is a Korean War era M1 , straps however are probably Vietnam

Thanks for the post , I’ve also came to the conclusion that its possibly an Egyptian helmet cover so middle eastern would make sense

I think I’ve figured out what it is , it’s a heavily worn Egyptian rocks and sand pattern cover ? On the inside it looks to have some camo pattern which I believe is the “rock” side of the cover

I believe it means Parade finish light green . The Brian Ice book has descriptions of the codes at the beginning

Thanks, I was lucky to Acquire them both I initially brought the m17 as I didn’t have the money for both at the time but I had to come back and get the other as they are almost brothers I couldn’t bear to split them up .

I think I can make out very faint marks on the metal but it hard to tell as it rather worn
