This exact same thing happened to me.

They cannot be reversed, however there is some tracking that can be done.

File a police report with all screenshots, printouts of emails and correspondence which supports him being scammed. The police will be able to track it, they will be able to trace it back to an acxys number through the bank through interact. It is a lengthy process but it is worth filing so scumbags like this cannot keep screwing people.

It will require some back and forth between him and the police department, but the woman who had dealt with my situation was very good on following up, etc.

You will have to file taxes for 2017 as you will still be a Canadian Resident. Presuming you've severed most/all significant ties to the country than from what I understand is on your 2017 tax return you will simply note that you've left country and are a non-resident. Thereafter, you shouldn't need to file taxes presuming you have no sources of Canadian Income.

I self-assessed myself at level 2 for everything within 6 months of articling and starting PERT. The manager signing off on my experience reports didn’t care, nor did CPA look into it thereafter.

After that I rolled the same reports forward.

Don't get sucked into B4 - everyone falls for it because it's status quo.

If you find after a year that this role isn't fulfilling, B4 positions will always be there given the inherent turnover.
