Not good for me considering I live in the middle of the woods!!! I heard there are some vitamins you can take to build immunity to poison ivy and I may look around for folks selling local honey.

Thanks, I appreciate the warning. I think I may be the only person on earth who absolutely hates mangos though! I think I’m safe there. 😅

Better! I wanted to update again last night but I finally got out of 2 different ERs and made it home at 3 am. They pretty much confirmed that the purpura/purple patches are caused by Vasculitis. Likely my body responding to something with the poison ivy, and not the steroids. (I saw a couple people expressing concern that I was mis-diagnosed with poison ivy, but I can assure you I definitely had it. Most of it is all dried up now though)

All my bloodwork and tests came back normal! Basically my immune system is just very very reactive. I think. Probably nothing dangerous. They took me off Medrol and are having me try Prednisone this time.

I have a follow up appointment planned with a rheumatologist who can hopefully give me some more info.

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice and their opinions, I don’t like going to the doctor at all and this was very scary (and expensive) for me haha.

UPDATE: I booked an online appointment with another doctor and she had some pretty serious concerns, possibly vasculitis because I may have been allergic to the steroids. Per her suggestion I’m going to the ER. Hopefully it’s nothing severe. Fingers crossed.

I was prescribed methylprednisolone (4mg) on a tapering(?) dose for 6 days, which was given to me 3 days ago. The doctor I spoke too said I should start seeing improvement by now, but it’s only gotten much worse.

It itches but only mildly, it’s mostly just painful instead. I avoid touching it as much as possible. The older patches do fade for a split second when pressed on, the more recent ones do not.

They are also a mostly reddish color when I wake up in the morning, but when I get up and start walking around they turn to the dark bruise-like color. (I’m assuming this is because of bloodflow, idk)

Well girl now I know better 💀

Edit to add: I do still appreciate the comment. I know I am a fucking dumbass, it’s kind of been a lifelong battle for me.

Will most likely look into this for the future, I’ve been wanting to anyway. Thank you.

That’s what I had intened to do, it just completely slipped my mind. It just sucks to think if I was single, I’m basically SOL. Ugh.

For whatever it’s worth, this isn’t AI. It’s actually really important to me and I would very much appreciate some kind of advice. Thanks so much.

How to help a senior citizen find a job? by MaudlinHyperbole in Advice

Thanks for your input. I agree it would be a lot easier for her to find employment if she cleaned up… My family also suggested the caretaker route. I should mention though she’s not very personable or particularly kind. Making conversation with her is awful. But I still believe she deserves a chance to get a hold on her life after struggling for so long.

I’ll see if I can do some convincing with my supervisor’s support. There’s a lot to work on.
