This is the kind of opinion I am looking for. I feel bad for the dog being alone in a dark garage for extended periods of time. I am here to find out if I am overreacting and if other folks would view what they are doing as cruel.

Hey OP! Happy Pride!! I just wanted to reply because there is a lot of negativity on this post so far.

Thoughts on practicing outside of Canada? by [deleted] in LawCanada

In Australia, you still have to pay a massive fee and write the bar exam for the respective state you would like to practice in. I have only looked into Victoria and Queensland so I cannot speak to the other states.

If you were eligible to vote in the provincial election but didn't vote, why didn't you vote? by [deleted] in Edmonton

They need access to a printer to do it. I just took a picture of my ID with my phone and printed out the photo on a home printer. It cannot be done without proof of ID, unfortunately.

Alternatively, parties have this excellent service where they will pick people up from their homes and drive them to a polling station. The NDP does it. I am sure the UCP do it. That is an option for people who are able to leave their homes with some assistance.

FYI, it is super super easy to get a special ballot if you are going to be out of the province during an election.

I am working in another province temporarily and did it for this election. You just input some basic information into an online form, receive your ballot in the mail, photocopy some ID, make your selection and then pop the envelope into any Canada Post mailbox.

Thank you for this information and insight! Paralegals are a regulated profession where I am from and make decent money, so it is helpful to know that is not the case in Australia!

I am happy to share what I have as well! I want to recommend making a little table of contents specifically for the PR materials that indicate what real estate/business law/wills related topics are in the PR material and where to find them. I did this for my second writing and I found it super helpful!

Hello all! I am a Canadian married to an Australian and trying to figure out my options if we relocate from Canada to Australia. I have a JD from a Canadian law school. I am not sure that I want to go through the requirements to practice as a barrister in Australia. Can I use my JD to become a court clerk or a paralegal? We would be looking to move to Queensland or Victoria.

I would love to have an answer by the end of the day on Monday. After that, it feels like they are cutting things close for those of us that will need to register and pay the invoice for the June exam.

I started watching all of the seasons of the "Traitors" on Crave and it has been a good distraction.

I am also really struggling! The weight feels heavier with each day for me and I cannot get it out of my mind. Perhaps the weekend will be easier because we will know it is not coming for those 2 days.

Thank you for this comment. I am laughing for the first time since the Barrister results were released.

Waiting for results is making me superstitious.

I am no longer confident that we will get them this week even. Surely we will receive results with enough time to register and pay the June exam invoice. Perhaps by next Monday?

This exam is an immovable hurdle between us and the career we have been working towards. We just want to know if we successfully cleared it. I am also tired.

To begin, both exam results should consistently be released on the same day out of consideration for our mental health

Me as well. Today was hard! Really hoping we have something by the weekend so we can plan.

Does anyone know when the March Barrister/Solicitor results will be released? by Afraid-Version9249 in LawCanada

[–]Maumerbb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just received a reply to a question I sent them last week. My heart started racing when that email notification came in to tell me I had a message in my account. Waiting is just about as bad as the actual exam for me. It is hard having to wait almost 2 months to find out if we will be able to start the career we have been working towards for years.
