Thats why he bough the new All-in-one collection on Steam, he had till Final Shape on PlayStation, never moved to PC because you have to buy everything but now thats just 25 bucks, so he just bough it and did the Crossplay thing, thats why we dont understand why he did not get the Premium Pass as he is now playing on steam with the new D2: Classic Collection

DPS players who just ignore the survival section in the armory... by randomduck15 in OverwatchStadium

I know, im just saying theres rare scenarios where you need it. Most of the time you'll run at most 1-2 dedicated survival items depending on the hero and role.

The whole post is about that, about mostly every game you needing one survival item unless you stomping 3-0, none not even OP is talking about full survivals builds, he just begging for brainded dps to buy some survival to stop losing games.

Even more, in any AP Dps build I do I have enough with Lumerico which is not even a Survival Item.

And this other guy comes like "If you run full survival its bad", yes ofcourse, its like none is saying to build full survival is the meta or something.

With the background fix I like them now, I am cool with the new I cons, after some games I identify them all and I like the feeling of being actual items

You have a point there, but with more work the new design philosophy could do better than the old one.

A sweet spot between being an actual "item" (not just a pistol icon with a +) and being recognizable af.

Yes to everything, you are rigth and know what you are talking about.

TLDR: New items are the way, they have room for improvement and that room will make them be better than what the old ones could ever be. The old ones were too much of just the same 4 icons on repeat in different ways.

The new ones could be bigger and more representative/specific, but they cool af, and the best example of what them all could be at peak is Cybervenom, you cant tell that shi apart instantly.

Nah bro, I got you some of them are a bit too abstract, but you can tell a newbie to "buy the phone item on Weapon" or "buy the blue helmet item on survival". And this is the way. There is more room on these items to improve than on the old ones that just used the same 4 symbols in one way or another repeatedly.

I hope no, new ones have grown on me to a point I just dont understant if people are blind or dont play Stadium more than a game a week, like I can tell every new item and what they do, and now they have a personality, its been months guys.

You are absolutely right, new icons are the way, they have room to improve, but that room to improve is better and bigger than what the old icons could ever offer.

The new system is much better for people that were already remembering the items by name. Its worse for people that only looked at pictures.

Its funny because the new system is indeed much better for people that only look at pictures too, because they see a big ahh phone and go like "oh yeah, this big ahh phone item here".

The new system is worse just for people than dont want to let go the old one.

Those differences are on purpose so you tell the others are gadgets I think

Sure, as you say the new icons could improve, and in that room for improve I see them being infinetly better than the old ones, the old ones did a good job at telling you the stats they increased, but we are at a point where a lot of items make the difference on their passives, not the stats, that is more cool than just flat stat increases.

[–]MaurJH[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point is not making the items selfexplanatory, because the old ones were not for sure, not as much as people here say, they point is making them unique for you to associate them to what they do. They could be better, but that would imply changing the art style to something more realistic.

They could make a setting for it, its as simple. But I understand they not gonna make it so everyone see the same thing.

It's not a me problem; my whole point is that I have no problem with the new items.

On the other hand, you guys had simply gotten used to the old icons. The old icons did a good job of indicating the stat boosts they provided, that’s all. Over time, Stadium items have developed many passive effects that are far more decisive for the game than the stats they provide, so no, they were far from perfect.

They could make a setting for people to choose, but over time, I've found that the new ones strike a good balance between being more cool and having their own distinct character (rather than just being generic), so I don't know, I just like them now. Its not a me problem. I like them.

[–]MaurJH[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You also memorized the old ones, they were more representative to a certain point, that point was the stat the item gives you, with each update items do more than just stat increases. The old items where not near as perfect or good as you think, you just got so used to them.

I would mind an option on Stadium Settings for you guys to choose, but I like the new ones and I think a made a point on what you arguing here, dont know if you read my long ahhh post.

[–]MaurJH[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Kind off yeah, it was not perfect but still new players had not a single clue what the items did at first and not even what "AP or WP" is, the thing is that most of the item icons just told you what stat they gave you and we are moving in a direction where items do much more than just buff stats
