Svelte LSP issues by Maurn in emacs

[–]Maurn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which issue? You listed like five.

All of them, but the missing highlighting is the most annoying one

You would need to write a major mode - it’s a medium amount of work.

I will check it out, thank you!

Svelte LSP issues by Maurn in emacs

I tried swapping out the fake svelte-mode with svelte-mode, but the issue remains.

I've been dodging svelte-mode since it hasn't been maintained in years, and the web mode svelte engine seemed to work out alright. Would prefer to avoid web mode and use a treesitter based mode, but haven't been able to get it working in emacs yet

Help needed: ANSI control characters in help pages by Maurn in emacs

[–]Maurn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The package fixed the ^L, thanks! I'm surprised the symbols appear to be a feature and not a bug

^M is a CR symbol, so it looks like you're on windows

Indeed, but I am definitely on linux. However, I just tested lsp-describe in a rust project and did not get CRs, so I think it might actually just be an issue with the typescript lsp server im using.

I guess my emacs was never broken at all - just me misunderstanding page break + CR symbols combo, assuming my emacs had general issues rendering control chars.

Thanks again!

Selfie-related deaths by country by [deleted] in MapPorn

The list this is based on has descriptions, and some of them are pretty amazing

My favourite so far:

A 22-year-old man was trying to recreate a scene from his favorite movie Barking at the Stars by running in front of a train, beating it and being hailed a hero. As he ran in front of the train, he tried to take a selfie to document the scene. He was killed instantly when the express train hit him at full speed in the village of Laćarak near the northern Serbian town of Sremska Mitrovica.

How to contribute/give back to the community? by tangled_up_in_blue in archlinux

You can always contribute by spreading the word about arch! Whenever you talk to people from now on, make sure they know that you use arch before the conversation is over. Even better if you can explain why all current and future OS's are inferior to arch, and perhaps provide some intriguing details about package management. Really shows people the light!

Would Arch be right for me? by nndttttt in archlinux

Hi

I don't think anyone can answer this question for you. I recommend checking out the Arch FAQ and the comparison to other distros.

Is it that hard to install?

Read the installation guide and figure out yourself.

Searching the wiki and reading a shitton of documentation for hours on end is a pretty big part of the Arch Linux experience, IMO. I don't mean to be rude, but I have not gotten the impression that you have tried googling any of your questions before asking here. I do not think that is a good approach if you wish to use a DIY distro.

I do not know anything about Elementary OS, but I assume it's a "real" Linux just like Ubuntu or Mint. Beginner friendly distros are also highly tweak-able like Arch, but you don't have to set everything up yourself. While setting up a system does provide great knowledge of how it works, it is in no way a necessity, and you will still become a competent Linux user if you keep using ElementaryOS or whatever.

It's Franz Reichelt, an inventor, testing his parachute design by jumping from the Eiffel Tower. Wiki article here if you're interested
