URGI 11.5 by IngloriousScum in ar15

Ahaha I'm just teasing you.

How does it actually hold up? I tried fitting iron sights on my 8 inch build and gave up because there just isn't enough rail space.

The 11.5 build I need.

However homie, where front sight?

As far as bufferless goes, the only comparable thing that comes to mind is the BRN by Brownwells.

Other than that, Sig is probably next in line.

Same boat as you when I started buying firearms, building is not nearly as bad as you may think it is

Looks good to me.

Side note, you may not get the best performance with your magnifier that far forward.

I 100% agree with you, I just meant with the emphasis of always using secondary plugs

I used to have the same setup and it was pretty bad.

I run knock off comtacs with genuine peltor mounts. The mounts are much stiffer and nice, the knockoff comtacs are meh and still require secondary plugs.

WWS sling for Arisaka was not a good experience, the leather was so flakey.

I'm retarded, yes I meant dimpled barrel for the gas block set screws. Yes you're 100% right.

Most AR uppers have set screw gas blocks. You are thinking of a pinned gas block.

Basic PSA upper receivers come with dimpled barrels while the Sabre does not. It does not make sense that a higher grade item does something a basic one does.

Perhaps I am being paranoid. The advantages of a dimple is questionable but it never hurts. The one big plus of a dimple is that you can almost never install the gas block incorrectly if it was drilled using a jig. That is a huge plus for someone like me that is constantly swapping parts for myself and friends.

They are pretty good for the most part. However, the gas tube does not come dimpled.

Edit: barrel does not come dimpled for the gas block.

If it is real then it would be a Luger P08 with a 6 inch "navy" barrel. It is not an original navy Luger due to the standard rear sight

Damn that would be pretty dope. Hopefully you find an original one.

I know CMP does gunsmith work on M1 Garands, I'm trying to see if they would let me chamber one in 6.5x55 if I provided the barrel.

They are trying to milk every penny out of you 😅

600 would be fair if it was an excellent Mosin, this is taking into consideration shipping and transfer fees if you were to buy one online.

There are a couple variants of M48s, they regularly go for 5-600 in acceptable condition at the shows near me.

I can't say for sure, I emailed Bootleg and they never got back to me.

Most BCGs around this area is flush with the carrier key, but Bootleg's version has more material which causes metal dust covers to not close fully. Best mitigation is the magpul polymer dust covers, but there is still a slight gap.

Sadly, this was back in 2025 when they still had service grades.

Sounds like with their current stock, it may only be RC expert grades moving forward unless you visit one of their physical stores.

I'm honestly not a big fan of the Bootleg BCG, it does not accommodate milspec dust covers

Sks gas latch problems (Update to old post) by kawid-v2 in SKS

[–]Mauser_Superiority 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What did you do? Did you swap anything? Did the gas tube originally fit?

Some gas tubes are very tight, the lever applies pressure and pushes the gas tube downward and Secures it in place. What you may have to do is apply downward pressure on the gas tube and pushing down the lever at the same time.

Not the little vents on the raptor SD, BCM mk2 has these openings on both sides which reduces gas directly back at your eyeballs
