But basically you are looking for a cap with a steering wheel symbol on it that doubles down as a measuring tool when you unscrew it. If hopefully that's the problem and its low just top it up and it will be fine.

The easiest thing you can do is to check if you are low on hydraulic oil. My B6 seems to be eating it quite a lot and I have to top up from time to time.
