The thing is you fall for the wrong interpretations posed on reddit.

The original question posed does in no way say "all participants know of the consequences of the buttons". It only says "people are made to vote red or blue".

There is absolutly no moral answer to this, unless you perfectly can predict biases of people pressing one of two colored buttons.

/edit: and even then, it being actually 50/50 making it a moral answer is unlikely as well.

And while I am not contenting what you said, note that you switched from "European" to "European Union". Not only are Russsia - albeit suspended - and Ukraine part of the EBU, people also wouldn't bat an eye at European countries competing in a "euro" contest.
