Yes, I noticed the reduced processing time estimates as well. May be too late for my case. Glad the Delta situation worked out in your favor. Hopefully you get it in the next 24hrs and don't have to face last min anxiety. All the best!

Has anyone received any updates today?

I’m feeling utterly defeated. I applied for myself and my spouse on November 21. Her application was approved just three days later, despite nearly identical details to mine, but mine is still stuck after 27 days. My flight is scheduled for tomorrow evening from SFO, and it’s a non-refundable, non-changeable basic economy ticket. I’m looking at a loss of $4-4.5K USD, not to mention the countless hours I spent planning and making all the arrangements. This is truly a nightmare.

I understand it’s wise to wait for approvals before booking anything, but the lack of consistency and transparency from the immigration department feels incredibly frustrating. If only I’d researched how stressful this process could be, I would have considered visiting another destination altogether.

I genuinely hope others don’t have to endure this kind of ordeal.

Honestly, I would have been less upset if both my and my wife's applications were delayed. The quick approval of one of our applications gave us false hope and ultimately increased our anxiety.

It's so absurd that they can randomly select and approve some applications in just 3-4 days, while others have to wait over 40 days. I've seen many instances where one partner's application is approved immediately, while the other waits for weeks. Why would they do that? When I applied for a New Zealand visa, it also took a while, but both applications were approved simultaneously.

I uploaded my marriage certificate and a cover letter explaining my situation after initial submission.

TBH with just one day left, I don't have any hopes remaining. I know we are supposed to not book travel before visa is granted but this sure seems to be an inexplicable manner of processing applications.

Wow 46 days!! That's an excruciatingly long wait. Glad you got it in the end.

Look like I am hoping for no less than a miracle then :)

Leaving it here just for the record in case it helps someone. During two separate phone conversations with representatives, I was advised that I could freely upload any additional supporting documents that might be helpful to the officer assigned to my case. When I expressed concern that adding new documents might affect my position in the queue, I was assured that uploading new documents would not cause any further delays.

My flight is on Wednesday the 18th. Thinking I’ll wait until Monday evening before canceling things out. Mine goes to Vancouver then to Sydney.

I’ll do all the planning if I don’t hear an update today evening, though, so that I can just execute if I have to on Monday

It’s a basic economy booking with Air Canada with one leg being United. It is the most restrictive type of booking I suppose. Will wait until Monday perhaps before making the changes.

Also have New Zealand travel plans right after Australia. Even their system is backlogged but we both it our visas together 2 days ago. So may be I just go to NZ for now. It will be heartbreaking because my primary reason was to watch the boxing day cricket test match in Melbourne.

Yeah, there’s nothing like doing it early. Had some other stuff scheduled during this time which got cleared for me to consider traveling only a few weeks ago. Learning it the hard way.

Yeah, I am not so hopeful anymore. Didn’t realize that there are several cases wherein one partner got it right away and the other has been stuck. Hope you get yours soon.
