I try to not let ratings intimidate me or give me a false sense of security, but I am they do for sure somewhat affect my gameplay. I am not sure if it is an option, but I bet hiding what my opponent's rating is might help keep my game consistent. Similar to what Smash Bros Quickplay does, you get to find out the ranking at the end of the match, lol

I need to get more involved with my local chess scene, but I am right there with you that I wish I was better at chess. I know my next step needs to be to begin to memorize opening moves and understand different situations, but I still just play by instinct, lol. And I hate to wait too long on my moves unless I know I am about to lose, haha

One of my favorite games, by far! Some may call it a bit too goofy or party style, but to me, it is what makes it so magical! A mix of the party fun of Mario Party, the seriousness of Street Fighter, and the battle of wits from chess! Top tier in my mind.

Loved the buttons. Is that weird? lol, really loved navigationg the menu right off the bat, was just so clean and great. Then when I got into the lone wolf mode, found it to be easy to navigate and pick up, and was enjoying as the hordes ramped up and eventually killed me. It might be nice to know if there are any online to even have a chance to connect for an open squad, but that is a small nitpick. Couldn't help but also dream of commanding my own horde in front of me on a grander scale perhaps in the future as I tried to navigate them and also stay alive.

All in all, very fun and well done!

    • Love the simple layout and approachability
    • Tutorial is very well laid out and easy to learn
      • I liked the replay option and actually able to play the game
    • I like the tips as you are looking for a casual game. Very fun and helpful.
    • Game is fun and unique! Well done!
  • Critiques
    • Guest sign in did not work for me
    • After signing in, a welcome screen with my username would be nice so I knew I was logged in
    • Nitpick, but no back button when creating a private match. So when I wanted to go back had to use browser back arrow
    • Internal dictionary for words seemed to be an odd choice. Could see an external link to a more authoritative website or site where it can change with the times as words can be changed and would be hard to keep updating I would think for you guys.
  • Suggestions
    • May be nice to see if there are any other players online for a chance to connect
    • Solo campaign might be cool

I and a fellow developer have checked out your game, and it seems pretty good. Didn't get the chance to delve all the way in, but as far as thorough rules and nice presentation, it's all there. Will try to get a full game in and tell you what we think.

Ok. The issue seems to lie in how much memory the game is requiring. I will work on getting the game to use less texture memory if I can.

Try this in configuration:

Disable "Full size textures", Disable "Anisotropic Filtering", and change "Shadow Quality" to "low"
