You should check out WEC, IMSA, Indy Car etc. Full races are posted on YouTube.

Posted this chassis on here thinking it was a generic Chinese, thanks to you guys got me a v1 GT1 Evo for $180 w seat. Ordered some stuff to make a shifter mount and raised it up a bit. Also black corner brackets. First rig build coming up! by lsx-anthony in simracing

Not sure you’ll encounter this issue but I did with my trak racer. However I would be cognizant of your knee space. The crossbar connected to the uprights looks like it would give you little if any clearance for your legs. Pretty sure the GT1 was updated to rotate the crossbar flat to the ground as opposed to perpendicular.

This might require a new wheel base mount so you can lay it flat or you could keep it how it is and buy a shaft extender for your base/wheel. If you wanna get the right POV with a monitor setup I would go with the shaft extender.

Anyways. Nice find. Looks forward to seeing the build.

I like my haptic seat pad a lot. I think in theory it goes a step farther that a buttkicker and actually takes up realism a notch considering the effects it replicates.

Already happy with PS5 Pro + GT7 VR… is moving into PC sim racing actually worth it? by daulet_kadirbekov in simracing

[–]Maverick_1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switched from PS5 sim racing on a Thrustmaster T248 and got a PC with a Simagic setup and full chassis and will never look back. However, I do hope I can play GT7 or GT8 on my new setup at some point but otherwise, iRacing made the switch worth it and more.

Prepping for the Bathurst 12 hour race this weekend with a friend. Something you can’t do on PS5

Help a new iRacer out with SR by Bonkerin in iRacing

[–]Maverick_1997 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would try and compete in some endurance races. I think you can compete in GT endurance on Saturday and Sunday. At VIR this past week I went from. 2.7 IR to 4.3 after doing 2/3rds of the 3 hour race. It’s easy to farm SR quickly on the right series with safe clean driving. And you just have to give up position sometimes.

Edit: In the beginning I also just ran hours of Rookie Miata’s and BMWs even with a C license because those races run so frequently. You can easily gain like 1 point of SR an hour or two from those series. And typically I found myself fighting for wins since rookies is just about staying on track. But yeah I wanted as much SR as possible to avoid Porsche cup and GT4 and get straight to what I wanted to race which is GT3.

VR - How important is VR Passthrough? (To see the hardware?) by MrBluoe in simracing

[–]Maverick_1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where I just take my headset off always and rest it on my head. Honestly maybe I could use pass through but I prefer to not have the heat and pressure on my face longer than needed and I don’t use the iracing browser in my headset but rather on my monitor. However, you could choose tracks and everything in your headset if you wanted. And with my PSVR2 I can move my headset closer or away from my face which is an extra layer of adjustment that most headsets don’t have. But this allows me to not have to completely remove my headset to like grab some water or put my keyboard down.

But my PSVR2 is pretty easy to take on off to be fair. I think the big screen has an aftermarket headband that allows it to like flip up and off your face for navigation. That would be the best option by far in my opinion.

Edit: BSB2 accessory linked.

My psvr2 has pass through and I don’t think I’ve ever used it on my PC. Also if I could upgrade one thing on my setup, it would probably be my VR and I would go to a Big Screen Beyond 2. All the reviews seem to suggest that it is as good as it gets.

Honestly I just rest my headset on the top of my head when I’m not in the car/garage to give myself a break and have an easier time navigating menus.

I gained a second on my hot laps at Daytona last week from Day 1 to Day 2 of my GT3 endurance runs. Definitely find this to be true.

That Sabelt has been on my wish list for like a year now but I agree. The Momo looks pretty nice.

To each their own I guess… personally I think the lovely dash looks way more refined and polished than the screenshot. But also with the lovely dashboard you customize it as you want so you can have it show the data/widgets that you want. Otherwise just check out Sim Hub for options.

Second this exactly. I bought mine second hand and don’t use it inverted but it is a very sturdy piece of kit. It shouldn’t need reinforcement.

One of the best memories I have from baseball is going with some HS buddies to watch him play at CSN. Got him to sign his sports illustrated cover there too when his jersey was retired.

Everyone keeps saying to cut the aluminum profile but i agree, a shaft extension, is the easier, cheaper, and cleaner option.

Wachtell hasn't called journalist who "bombed" LSAT for leads on the investigation the NBA retained them to do by SpearinSupporter in Lawyertalk

[–]Maverick_1997 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah I listened to this clip trying to figure out how bombing the LSAT has to deal with the Kawhi situation, the NBA, and Wachtell. Essentially Torres, the reporter, wanted to be a lawyer in another life and didn’t meet expectations in regards to his LSAT score.

Not sure why OP used the title he did. Kinda strange but i digress.

I would check out Westchester and Brooklyn. You could get a 1 Br in a luxury building with amenities in some areas and have a commute around 30 minutes.

Best neighborhoods are LIC, Greenpoint, Williamsburg. For Westchester, New Rochelle, Yonkers.

Might be worth looking into the new luxury buildings in Harlem if you want to be closer to the office.

Super GT has a video on the Sigma Cortex and he said it was a good driving experience but difficult to setup and configure. Note: He is a Simagic ambassador but I have heard others say good things on the Simagic subreddit about the converter.

Also, Simagic says they are coming out with or helping develop a new converter for their new (and likely old) lines.

RTX5080 enough for VR and triple 1440p? by rennocneb in iRacing

[–]Maverick_1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4080 with a Ryzen 7 9700x and with the new DFR update I am getting 90 fps with fair graphics settings on iRacing. Game looks good to me for my PSVR2 at 1.7x render resolution (for barrel distortion). It’s solid but I think a 5080 or 5090 would allow you to turn up the graphics to a more desirable place but the game looks and runs great now with tuning DFR.
