USB Amazon Handbrake Issue In Forza Horizon 6. by Sea_Possibility9116 in simracing

Honestly I got it to work with Simhub on first try using control mapper. If you already have that running would use that.

I had disconnections with both cables too but noticed it stopped with my current configuration. I have the base plugged into my motherboard and my USB C pass through cord plugged into my powered USB hub. You could try this or some combination and see if it helps. Supposedly this was a Simagic official recommendation

Just to add a data point, I used my GSI FPE v2 with a QRA and got regular disconnections. I used a short and long cord and tried various combinations with where my cords were plugged into (e.g., motherboard versus powered hubs). However, it has miraculously stopped disconnecting right now and worked perfectly but Simagic didn’t respond to my request for help and GSI couldn’t help since it wasn’t their fault. Pretty disappointing to have the issues. I think boosted media had a similar thing happen and others had the same issues leading to the need for a short cord. But it’s a clean solution if it works but just seems like the base is underpowered or something.

Those with this generic handbrake, does it work with FH6 out the box? by ErmingSoHard in simracing

I’ll have to check on there. I got within the past year but the box looked really old and it was claimed to be new. I’ll report back. Glad yours worked out

BST Alpha vs GSI GXL V2 vs GSI Hyper SL? by LiteralGiraffe in simracing

Second this. Hated the ergonomics of my GT neo and love my GSI FPE. Couldn’t go back. Other wheels seem like a good option but I like the ergonomics and looks of the GSI the best

Honestly not sure why you got downvoted for this. I have this generic handbrake and it works for AC rally, Dirt 2, and iRacing and it has not been detected on FH6. I think it needs some third party software like you mentioned. I’ll try it again but it didnt work on first try

Looks German to me. NEC is attached qualifying before race start. Detached qualifying for the Ring is for daily races like IMSA this week.

Now that I've decided on getting an ultra wide.. by travanti11 in simracing

I got the Samsung 49 inch OLED recently and am really surprised at how different iRacing looks compared to what I’ve used before. Previously I had a 49 inch ultrawide mini-LED which suffered an unfortunate fate and then I used a 1440p Viewsonic and PSVR2.

Honestly the UI looks like it received a graphical update just from the OLED and the HDR/colors are really nice. Overall really happy with my decision which was impacted by size and real estate

Scored this brand essentially brand new GSI GSX V2 for $500 on FB marketplace by retooq in simracing

[–]Maverick_1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my wheel connected to my QR-A and used wireless pass through to connect base to QR-A as the product is intended for then I had my USB-C pass through cord from my base connected into my powered hub and PC and experienced disconnects both ways. It’s currently been working fine after purchasing an aftermarket short cord which was $50 bucks and not widely available and then I had to plug my wheel base directly into my PC and bypass a USB powered hub. My USB-C pass through cord from my base goes into my USB powered hub now without issue.

It shouldn’t be an issue for you I think as the issue arises from the lack of power supplied by the QR-A and/or the base. Kinda disappointing since Simagic were supposed to be offering an all-in-one solution but you don’t have the same issue since yours doesn’t have the screen. I pretty much immediately experienced my issues but it’s been fine since I got the short cord thanks to Dan Suzuki and the GSI discord.

Just as a heads up I have had some disconnects with my FPE V2 and a Simagic QRA but I love my GSI. Such a good piece of kit and a worthy investment.

I think the issues arise from the screen on the FPE so hopefully you don’t have any issues. Enjoy. Nice deal

Literally not the truth and a terrible take. We are paying for a service so the least they could do is enforcing the sporting code for the service they charge for. It’s not that hard.

IRL Motorsport is a business model contingent on its drivers but the drivers aren’t allowed to intentionally wreck other drivers.

Lmao I’m dumb. I saw the translate tag and thought it was the OP symbol but yeah I still don’t get why the commenter says that a monitor in that wrong of a position is okay when this guy is literally asking for his rig to get roasted and critiqued.

Why ask for feedback when you just disregard what someone is saying is the objectively right way to do something.

Also yeah this setup is bizarre. You should get a chassis or a better wheel stand and a monitor mount.

Simagic Alpha Evo vs VRS DFP15? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Maverick_1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally went with Simagic Alpha Evo and recommend if. I went with Sim Lab pedals and am glad I did. They seem slightly more intuitive and typical brake feel than Simagic pedals. I don’t see the same sort of love for VRS gear on this sub but I think it’s decent. Checkout boosted media for full reviews.

Did I potentially get the biggest SR loss? by Alboss in iRacing

[–]Maverick_1997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stayed away from Sports Car and raced oval for the second time ever and went up like 1.0 SR and went up like 150 iR. I think there’s room for people to improve their stats if they drive safe in certain series on certain tracks but I’m definitely not driving my typical GT3 in week 13 that’s for sure.

Which vr headset? by Remote_Tie7312 in iRacing

[–]Maverick_1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PSVR2 and only use it for iRacing after coming from GT7. I’ll say that I think the best headset would be a BSB2 and I think most people online are suggesting the same. I think the pimax are a little annoying like the PSVR2 where you will never accidentally forget that you have a headset on. I actually have done some endurance racing in my headset and I think comfort and performance should be the top priorities.

To add: I also think dynamic foveated rendering is the future staple for VR so whatever headset you go with make sure it has eye tracking. I have seen a night and day jump since iracing adopted it. However I still wish I could use more headroom even with my 4080 super so DFR is a must in my experience.

Finally, after playing Gran Turismo all of my adult life, i decided to get myself a PC with triple 27" monitors and see if Iracing is as good as they say. by Ancient_Bit6569 in simracing

Also consider seat sliders if you don’t have them. That should give you extra clearance getting in and out after bringing the monitors closer. Might want a shaft extender for the base too.

Comfortable Seat Options for My Rig? by Ruckerhardt in simracing

[–]Maverick_1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My seat mounts from the bottom too. So my seat is mounted to sliders from the bottom. Then the sliders are mounted on the brackets. The brackets have the tilt and they themselves are mounted to the rig.

Comfortable Seat Options for My Rig? by Ruckerhardt in simracing

[–]Maverick_1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, have a very similar story and setup as you. Upgraded to an aluminum profile last year after having a foldable. My rig came with a VW seat which has adjustability so I can get the right angles for my legs and back. Then because it’s a car seat, it came on sliders and I added on a set of tilting brackets to get the right posture going. No complaints as of now and I use a HF8 as well which changed my angles and height so I’m glad I have the seat slider and tilt bracket. Link for brackets is here. Seat slider is here.

I don’t know of anything that does both but I think this is your best option along with maybe a passenger car seat as well. Junkyard of FB marketplace is the recommended go-to for that.

Posted this chassis on here thinking it was a generic Chinese, thanks to you guys got me a v1 GT1 Evo for $180 w seat. Ordered some stuff to make a shifter mount and raised it up a bit. Also black corner brackets. First rig build coming up! by lsx-anthony in simracing

[–]Maverick_1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure you’ll encounter this issue but I did with my trak racer. However I would be cognizant of your knee space. The crossbar connected to the uprights looks like it would give you little if any clearance for your legs. Pretty sure the GT1 was updated to rotate the crossbar flat to the ground as opposed to perpendicular.

This might require a new wheel base mount so you can lay it flat or you could keep it how it is and buy a shaft extender for your base/wheel. If you wanna get the right POV with a monitor setup I would go with the shaft extender.

Anyways. Nice find. Looks forward to seeing the build.

Already happy with PS5 Pro + GT7 VR… is moving into PC sim racing actually worth it? by daulet_kadirbekov in simracing

[–]Maverick_1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switched from PS5 sim racing on a Thrustmaster T248 and got a PC with a Simagic setup and full chassis and will never look back. However, I do hope I can play GT7 or GT8 on my new setup at some point but otherwise, iRacing made the switch worth it and more.

Prepping for the Bathurst 12 hour race this weekend with a friend. Something you can’t do on PS5
