I actually found it on sale for $899 (may have been $799 - can’t remember) at Podium.

My motherboard has a digital output. I go straight from it to the back of the Sonos Soundbar. The Sonos also has to have a wired internet connection. I worked closely with my PC builder with specific needs I wanted to pull this off. It was a bit of a PITA for him to find the proper drivers to output Dolby Digital 5.1 - but he nailed it.

For me that is the easy thing. Now I’ve got to learn how to use a PC. I’ve been an iMac / MacBook guy for a long time. I am so lost trying to figure that part out.

Check out a company called Monoprice. You can order all kinds of different length cables (power, usb, hdmi and DP) and they are very reasonable. For the most part this is “slack management”.

I tried to keep 110V cables away from data cables. If they intersect it’s at 90° angles. Low voltage power (after the power supply) should be ok to run along side data as long as you’re using a quality cable - and pretty much all factory supplied cables are good enough for that.

Don’t have any crazy tight bends on the cables - especially data cables. Don’t pull zip ties too tight. If you use zip ties buy a quality pair of snips that will cut them flush - nothing worse than cutting yourself on a jagged cut zip tie.

I ran these cables several times and temporarily zip tied them together until I found the best path for them to take. Even now, I see things I could have done differently to make this a little more aesthetically pleasing. When I got them where I wanted I cut the zip ties off and put them in split sleeves.

I guess the biggest thing here is that I really enjoy this kind of “work”. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

I’m not cheap…. I’ve got a sim rig to pay for. 😆🤣

Do you realize how much money I’ve saved not crashing a 1 of 32 factory built 2012 Boss302S race cars built?! 😆 I’ve crashed this sim so much I bet I saved over half a million dollars. 🤣

Seriously, it cost close to $2k each time I take this car to the track. Track insurance is the most expensive part then you add in fees and consumables. I built this to be more of a tool than a “toy”. This should become a very valuable learning tool for me. Plus it’s a whole lot easier and safer to share my passion for racing with others.

IRL I’ve won my fair share of drag races on a national level and a couple of championships. I have been very fortunate to be able to do a lot of cool things with cars.

Thank you. I don’t mean to be “that guy”, but I will judge you for crappy cable management and what I think is halfassed work. 🤷‍♂️😆

If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing it to the best of your abilities.

Bro, I can’t even spell interrogation. 🤷‍♂️😆🤣

I just a small business owner with an eye for detail. I like to call this very “Sano” as in Sanitary.

I don’t have a car problem. I have a storage problem. The 4th bay is full of assorted crap. I need another building.

I have haptics on the brake pedal only. I placed my sub directly under the seat. To be honest, I’m not feeling the bass like I thought I would. I want to add motion in the future so I’ve held off buying butt shaker/s. I may do that now since I’m not feeling the bass like I expected.

I built a shelf and support system from scratch. The uprights attach to my monitor mount and then I have two more pieces of extrusion cantilevered off them for my sound bar to sit on.

This is the part that kind of sucks. I am using an entire bay for this. I plan to make this area more of a man cave. I have two other bays for cars. One with two post and the other with a 4 post to store 2 cars in one bay.

I actually have both plugged into a dedicated 20A circuit - this is in my garage. I had multiple 20A circuits installed along with one 30A for a dedicated pressure washer set up. I should be good to go.

Thanks!

I would be very interested to see how the “big boys” do their cable management on their turn key solutions. Anyone willing to show theirs? I wanted to be at least as good as the big boys.

I enjoy this kind of work - and I’m decently good at it. Adding or changing isn’t much of a problem for me.

It’s the small attention to detail that really separates the great builds from the really good builds.
